Great question. I hope you are feeling well after your surgery. Yes, gummy bear implants were once a popular option for breast reconstruction. However, gummy bear implants are textured and they are now being implicated in BIA-ALCL, a type of breast implant lymphoma directly related to the texturing. This is not a breast cancer, but rather a lymphoma (blood cancer) that we continue to learn more about.
For that reason, I would recommend smooth…

Great question. In order to properly address your concerns I’d need a full medical history and to perform a physical exam to understand your degree of skin laxity and overall tightness of your abdomen. Additional photographs would also be helpful.
Please make sure you see a board certified plastic surgeon in consultation for a best result.

Great question. I sympathize with your frustration. My recommendation is to see a board-certified plastic surgeon in consultation to understand your revision options. If you are dissatisfied with the opinion you have gotten, feel empowered to seek another opinion.
There are very rare circumstances that warrant an elective mastectomy.
Good luck.

Great question.
There is no age limit for reconstruction. Rather, it is a matter of your overall health and desire to undergo multiple surgeries in order to achieve a successful reconstruction.
I recommend you see a board-certified consultation to understand your options for reconstruction.
Good luck!

Thanks for submitting this question and providing your photographs.
It sounds like you’ve already been through quite a lot. You may benefit from a flap surgery, but its important to know more about your medical history and to do a proper physical examination.
Otherwise, please seek out a board-certified plastic surgery for consultation.
Please stay healthy and safe during this time.

I’m sorry you are suffering so much.
I’d need to see photographs, get a full medical history and do an examination to give you an expert opinion.
I recommend you see a board certified plastic surgeon in consultation to understand your options for reconstruction.
Please stay healthy and safe

Great question. I’m wondering if you just had the implants removed and not the overlying breast capsule, because it looks like you have capsular contracture on the left side.
I’d need to know more of your medical history (radiation? infections) and do an examination in person to understand the cause of this and evaluate your options for consultation.
Otherwise, I recommend you see a board certified plastic surgeon in consultation.
Good luck and stay safe!

Great question. Biocell textured implants have been implicated in BIA-ALCL. However, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons does not recommend prophylactic removal/replacement of textured implants and capsulectomy at this time. That being said, if you are bottoming out and desiring revision because you are dissatisfied with your reconstruction, it is reasonable to have the implants replaced with smooth round silicone gel implants.
Please make sure you…

Unfortunately the largest silicone gel implant being manufactured is 800cc. However, it is possible to overfill a saline breast implant to upwards of 1000 cc.
You may benefit from the use of ADM, or acellular dermal matrix, to assist in shaping your breasts into a more aesthetic position.
I recommend seeing a board-certified plastic surgeon in consultation to learn more about your options.
Good luck!

This is a great question. It is very common to consider a preventative double mastectomy in a situation such as yours. Your breast surgeon should be able to answer all of your questions regarding your mastectomy and whether or not you are a nipple-sparing candidate.
Regarding reconstruction, many women want an immediate “one and done” option. However, direct-to-implant reconstruction is tricky and has a high rate of revision. The more conservative approach with…

Congrats on completing your family.
Based on your photographs I would recommend a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), flankplasty, and repair of your rectus diastasis (six-pack muscles). This will funcitonally resotre your muscles to your midline and excise excessive skin and fat.
If you desire liposuction I would stage that approximately 3 months later.
Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon in consultation to understand your options…

The best way to think about it is that liposuction with remove excess subcutaneous fat (the fat between your skin and your underlying muscle).
It does not address loose skin. The concern is that if you only have liposuction, you may have more redundant skin.
A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, will excise the excess skin and restore your six pack muscles.
I recommend you see a board-certified plastic surgeon in consultation for a comprehensive evaluation and to…

Based on your photos you are a great candidate for an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).
This procedure is also functional as it will realign your six pack muscles in addition to excising lose skin and recontouring your abdomen.
I recommend you first complete your family and are at your weight goal, and then see a board-certified plastic surgeon in consultation for an evaluation and to learn more about this procedure.
Good luck!

The main difference is that a breast reduction include removal of breast tissue, while a breast lift is just removal of skin. Both procedures will reshape your breasts and raise your areola and nipple up to a more youthful position.
