Is it normal for filler to cause broken capillaries around my nose?
Broken capillaries after nose injections
Jun 20, 2019
Hello and thank you for your question.  Injections in the nose can cause long-term redness and broken capillaries due to the inflammation and bruising that can occur.  This phenomenon is your body’s way of healing itself and is very normal.  There are many lasers that can help reduce these new mico vessels that are formed. Lasers such as Yag, IPL, Excel V and V-beam are all great treatments for redness, flushing, broken capillaries and more.  Be sure to seek an experienced practitioner who …
Is there a difference between how deep voluma vs. Radiesse is injected in the temples?
Radiesse vs. Voluma and planes of injection
Jun 20, 2019
Hello and thank you for your question.  Fillers used in the temples are usually injected deeper whether it is Radiesse or Voluma.  In the cheeks, however, fillers can be injected into different planes depending on what is used.  Radiesse is a calcium based filler that is white in color and more of a paste-like consistency.  That being said, it is best when injected deep, right onto bone, in areas like the temples or zygoma.  Voluma, on the other hand, is a hyaluronic acid based filler with a…
Possible to eliminate weird shadow formed by under-lip fat pockets?
Fillers for chin smoothing
May 31, 2019
Hello and thank you for your question.  With the help of fillers you can minimize the shadow cast by these protruding pockets just under your lower lip.  Fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, or Radiesse can be injected just under these pockets and in the mental crease of your chin to create a smoother transition from your lower lip to your chin.  Be sure to seek an experienced injector who specializes in facial aesthetics for best results. Good luck!
What’s the best solution for my marionette lines?
Filler and Botox for marionette lines
May 30, 2019
Hello and thank you for your question.  You seem to be a great candidate for a combination treatment of filler and Botox in the marionettes.  With fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane can help to fill in those deep creases by the corners of the mouth.  When placed strategically and precisely, the corners of the mouth can also be turned upward to give a more youthful look.  Additionally, a couple units of Botox in the depressor anguli oris muscles (those muscles which are responsible for …
Should I be worried if I have swelling 2 days after Botox?
Bumps two days after Botox
May 28, 2019
Hello and thank you for your question.  Swelling after Botox is only normal for about 15 min to a couple hours after the injections. This particular swelling may be due to what product they used to reconstitute their Botox.  It seems that water may have been used instead of normal saline.  If this is the case, there is no harm done,  it will just take longer for the fluid to be absorbed by your body.  Regardless, you should have your injector take a look as soon as possible.
