No Results After 5 Days Of Botox

Movement 5 Days After Botox

Five days is still pretty early after a Botox treatment – I generally counsel my patients that they may see initial results of their treatment at 3 days, and that it takes 14 days to see full results.

20 units dose is a standard dose between the eyebrows, and should be sufficient to achieve a good result in most patients. I would recommend that you follow-up with your injector after 2 weeks if you still notice movement – if needed, they should be able to perform a touch-up treatment at that time.

You should not experience any numbness after your treatment. Botox should only impact muscle movement and not sensation in any treated areas. (Faiyaaz Kalimullah, MD, FAAD, Chicago Dermatologic Surgeon)

Absolutely No Difference In Glabella

At 5 days you are still a bit early. Give it a full week and then reassess. You might need more. (Steven Wallach, MD, New York Plastic Surgeon)

Botox in the glabella

Botox begins to work in 5 days or so and does not reach its peak until 10-14 days so give it more time.

if you still have a deep line filler can be done but that is tricky so be sure you are seeing a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. (Melvin Elson, MD, Nashville Dermatologist)

Botox for Frown Lines

20 units does sound like an appropriate dose, but it takes 7 – 14 days to see the full results of Botox. On rare occasions, if you have powerful muscles, you may need more Botox injected. Always ensure that your injector is reputable. (Nirmal Nathan, MD, Plantation Plastic Surgeon)

Botox Can Take 3-7 Days To Start Seeing Results

Botox Results-Add lasers, fillers, microneedling/prp for deeper lines

It can take 1-2 weeks for final results with Botox. For deeper lines a combination is needed with Botox and fillers, lasers and microneedling/prp. (Jason Emer, MD, Los Angeles Dermatologic Surgeon)

Still able to frown after botox

Botox injections may take up to two weeks for its full effect. If after two weeks you are still able to frown, you will need additional units.

This is very common as the number of units needed for optimal outcome varies from person to person. (Alain Michon, MD, Ottawa Physician)

botox takes at least 10 or sometimes up to 21 days to work fully. Don’t worry, give it time and in the worst case, ask for a top up after 3 weeks have passed which most practitioners will happily do for free. (Adam Goodwin, MBBS, FRCS(Plast), Manchester Plastic Surgeon)

Return In 10 Days For A Follow Up Procedure

It takes approximately 2 weeks to see the full effect of Botox. If at that time you are still dissatisfied please follow up with your board certified Dermatologist who injected you to discuss your options. (Matthew Elias, DO, FAAD, Fort Lauderdale Dermatologic Surgeon)

Need to be more patient

Is this your first Botox treatment for this area? If so, relax…you need to give it more time. Sometimes Botox can take as long as 10-14 days to exhibit its full affect on relaxing your facial muscles.

I tell all of my patients 3-7 days before they notice a change. It is possible after 14 days you will still have movement, at which time you will need to have a touch-up to your treatment.

The efficacy of the treatment depends on the skill of the injector and if they correct amount of Botox was used. (Matthew Pinto, DO, Cherry Hill Physician)

Wait Ten Days And Then Revisit Your Doctor

It usually takes 7 days for the muscles to relax and 14 days to see maximum benefit. Don’t worry yet as its still very early. After 14 days, you should return to the injector for a touch up if needed. (Alim R. Devani, MD, FRCPC, Calgary Dermatologist)

I would not worry just yet. It can take up to 2 weeks to see the full effects of Botox so if you haven’t already, just schedule a follow-up appointment with your provider at the 2 week mark.

If you still have some movement, then you may need a few more units to achieve the desired outcome. (Pauline Scott, MD, MBA, Katy Dermatologist)

Botox takes time to work.

It typically takes Botox 7 days before you start to notice a decreased movement of your musculature. It takes 2 weeks to see final results. If, at 14 days you still have movement you should return to your injector and have more Botox injected.

Waiting A Bit Longer

You may need more than 20 units to see a result. Keep in mind, if you had a deep line at rest, the Botox will soften the line and not completely eliminate it. (Elena Vega, DO, New York General Surgeon)

Botox – Still movement after 5 days

Botox can take up to 7-14 days to take full effect. However, if after this time you are still unhappy with your treatment I would suggest speaking to the treating physician. (Samuel Hetz, MSc, MD, Ottawa Physician)

Line between forehead still there 5 days post treatment

I recommend to my patients that they wait a week to see the full effect of botox. I have noticed over time in my practice that there is a great variance in response among patients, some responding quickly and within a few days and others require much longer.

Works In Progress

As far as the line is concerned, it will take months for that to significantly improve after the botox takes effect. (Bram Kaufman, MD, Cleveland Plastic Surgeon)

Botox can take up to 14 days to work

So do not worry yet! The frontalis muscle typically responds quicker than the central frown muscle group (Glabellar complex). Make sure you schedule a review with your practitioner at 2-3 weeks post treatment to check all is well. (Ravi Jain, MBBS, London Physician)

Botox results after frown line injection

It can take 7-14 days to see the full results of Botox injection. 20 units is a standard dose for the frown lines and you should see a good result. I would give it a few more days.

If you are not happy with your results after 14 days, you may need more Botox. In that case, I would followup with your injector to discuss your concerns. As long as you were treated by a reputable injector using genuine product, you should be fine. (Shaun Patel, MD, Miami Physician)

Botox for Glabellar Lines

It is still too early to tell as it takes about two weeks for botox to achieve its full effect. Each patient also varies in the amount of botox required to achieve a desired result, so it is often helpful to set up a follow-up appointment 2-4 weeks after your first treatment(s) to ensure that your goals are being met.

Numbness is not expected after botox. (Leslie Kim, MD, MPH, Columbus Facial Plastic Surgeon)

Full muscle movement 5 days after Botox to treat vertical line between brows

It can take 1-2 weeks to see the full effect from a Botox treatment, so since your treatment was 5 days ago, it is possible that you are not seeing the results yet. I would recommend waiting a week or so and then re-evaluate your appearance.

If at that time there is still not improvement, I would return to the physician who treated you. (Michael I. Echavez, MD, San Francisco Facial Plastic Surgeon)
