Unfortunately any previous gastric surgery is a complete contraindication for all of the gastric balloons on the market including Orbera, Reshape, and Obalon. You should look into a comprehensive weight loss program or surgery if you qualify. I wish you the best of luck.

I would get a second opinion from another bariatric surgeon to perform an endoscopy to see if the original sleeve was performed correctly.  If they made your stomach too large this can lead to the poor weight loss.  You should have never even had a sleeve gastrectomy with a BMI of 32. The criteria for sleeve gastrectomy is a BMI of 40 or greater or a BMI fo 35 or greater with at least one medical problem related to obesity.

Yes, you can convert a sleeve gastrectomy to gastric bypass. Depending on your insurance and BMI, insurance may cover your procedure.  Self pay prices vary throughout the USA.  I suggest you consult with a bariatric surgeon in your area and discuss your options to obtain pricing. Unfortunately you do NOT qualify for sleeve gastrectomy.  The criteria for sleeve gastrectomy is a BMI greater than 40 or a BMI greater than 35 with at least one medical problem related to obesity.  You do qualify for the gastric belly balloon.  You need a BMI between 30 – 40 to qualify for this procedure.  I recommend you follow these guidelines that are the standards in the USA. In foreign countries they will perform the surgery on anyone willing to pay.
