How Much Are Botox Injections In Canada?

The cost of Botox varies depending on your location. In Canada the cost is usually less than in the US as the cost of the product itself is lower. Each clinic then charges a fee for the treatment that includes the cost of the product itself.

In Vancouver the prices Range from $10-$16 per unit in general. It really depends on who you have performing the injection. Experience makes a big difference in the quality of the result (Thomas Buonassisi, MD, Vancouver Facial Plastic Surgeon)

Botox costs $10-$16 per unit – depends on who does it.

Botox costs around $10 – $16 a unit in Canada. Each area takes about 25 – 30 units. Make sure that the person doing it is experienced. (Michael Weinberg, MD, Toronto Plastic Surgeon)

I highly suggest you make sure you get BOTOX injected by a plastic surgeon. Prices vary depending on the experience and location of your plastic surgeon.

We charge around $12/U. Non plastic surgeons may charge less but be wary when seeking plastic surgery by non plastic surgeons. (Hani Sinno, MD, Montreal Plastic Surgeon)

Botox Injections

Always keep in mind that Botox as well as filler treatments (such as Juvéderm, Restylane and Perlane) are best performed by a board certified plastic surgeon. In the Montreal area, the average cost of botox is 12$ per unit.

Additional taxes may apply for Botox given for esthetic purposes. Depending on age and muscle activity, you may require between 30 – 60 units. Your doctor will assess you during your consultation to determine how many units are right for you. (Teanoosh Zadeh, MD, FRCSC, Montreal Plastic Surgeon)

The cost of Botox in Montreal, Canada

In Montreal Botox injections performed by qualified plastic surgeons and dermatologists can cost $11.00 – $18.00 per unit. Non-specialists may charge less.

In my clinic, where I have injected thousands of patients with Botox over the past 12 years, we charge about $13.00 per unit.

Some doctors charge by the area for Botox which can be mis-leading as one doesn’t know if they are getting the proper dose (units) for that area. If the number of Botox units injected is not adequate, the results may be poor or last only a few weeks.

To treat the three areas that you mention in a typical female patient would usually require 50 – 75 units of Botox. Make sure that your doctor is experienced with Botox, that he or she has fully explained what the injection plan is and what results can be expected and of course, how many units will be used for each area.

The cost of Botox is the same to all the doctors using it. The small differences between the doctors are based on the experience, the ultimate results, the duration of effect of the treatment. Less Botox usually mean shorter duration of results.

What you really paying for is the doctor and the results and not the units of Botox. (Mariusz Sapijaszko, MD, FRCPC, Edmonton Dermatologic Surgeon)

Botox Pricing

I charge $12 per unit. This is pretty standard in Toronto. Pricing usually varies between $8/unit to $16/unit in the GTA. (Asif Pirani, MD, FRCS(C), Toronto Plastic Surgeon)

Botox cost

It is difficult to answer what the cost of Botox will be for you. It depends how much is needed and where you live in Canada. If you are just trialing Botox then a rough guide is 6-10 units for the crow’s feet; 12-25 units for the glabella (where nose and forehead meet), and 2-4 for the corner of your mouth.

Doctor Roni Munk, MD, Montreal Dermatologic Surgeon – 56 Year Old Woman Treated With Botox Injections

I am a big believer that “less is more” with Botox. Too many celebrities are frozen. It looks obvious and it takes away from the appeal. The ideal result should have no wrinkles at rest but still allow you to express some emotion when you want.

There is no reason you can’t start low and add a little more if you want. The next time you have a treatment your doctor or nurse can adjust up or down based on your desire.

Typically in a plastic surgeon’s office price will range 8-15 dollars per unit depending on where you live. Good customers are usually offered a reduced price as a thank-you. (Rodger Shortt, FRCSC, Toronto Plastic Surgeon)

The cost of BOTOX depends on how many units & how many areas are injected and who is doing the injecting. For an expert dermatologist or plastic surgeon, the cost for treating the frown area is typically anywhere from $300-$500, with a similar cost for the Crow’s feet; horizontal forehead lines typically cost around $250.

Men require a much higher dose than women because of stronger muscles so cost for men is higher. (Benjamin Barankin, MD, FRCPC, Toronto Dermatologic Surgeon)

Cost of Botox

Botox is supplied to physicians as a freeze-dried vial of 100 units of Botulinum toxin which requires reconstitution with Normal Saline solution prior to use. Each physician determines the exact “dilution” used to reconstitute the vial of Botox.

The recommended “standard” of dilution is approximately 2.5cc Normal Saline per vial of 100 U of Botox which equates to 4 U Botox per 0.1cc. Physicians will charge in either of 2 ways (Usually) : either “per area” or “per unit” of Botox used.

In Canada you can find a wide range of quoted prices for Botox. In general, between $9-$13 per unit is seen locally. For those that charge per area, expect a graded scale ($400 for one are, $500 for two and $550-600 for all three areas) – (both sides of the crow’s feet is considered one area).

Be cautious of those advertising $99 Botox for one or more areas – they may be overdiluting the Botox. I recommend researching and finding a well respected BOARD CERTIFIED Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist for your needs. (David L. J. Wardle, MD, Ottawa Plastic Surgeon)

Botox fees vary with the amount used

Fees for Botox or any procedure for that matter will vary from one community to another. Within the same community fees will vary less. With Botox fees should vary directly with the amount used. Botox is administered in units.

Smaller areas require less, and the amount used to treat anyone anatomic area may vary from person to person, because everyone responds differently. You should look for a provider who does this often and ideally choose a MD rather than a nurse or PA or nurse practitioner.

Non-surgical Anti-aging Treatments In Canada

It is best to get a personal recommendation from someone who is happy with their results. You should expect to pay between $10 and $16 per unit depending where you live. (Ralph R. Garramone, MD, Fort Myers Plastic Surgeon)

Botox Price is Dose Dependent

Botox Cosmetic is a dose dependent drug, like most other drugs. It is usually priced by the number of units used. For example, a patient who is 40 years old may benefit from 30 units, while another 40 year old patient may benefit from 75 units.

It is impossible to say without examining you. Much of this depends upon the number of areas you are seeking to improve, the depth of your lines and corresponding muscle strength, heredity, and sun exposure.

It makes sense to pay by the unit, because you pay for what you use. If someone charges $350 per site (i.e. the forehead), you may end up paying too much or too little, depending on how much is used.

Botox Cost In Canada Varies From About $10 Per Unit To $15 To $17 Per Unit

Ultimately, the amount of Botox that is recommended to you by your physician is purely a subjective estimate, based upon the physician’s evaluation of your lines and muscle pull, and what he/she “thinks” you need.

My approach is to make this estimate, tell the person what this would cost based upon our standard fee of $14/Unit, and then let them decide whether they wish to proceed or not. If they can’t afford this, we can always use fewer units of Botox, but the patient knows that it may not be the ideal amount.

However, we can always add more a couple of weeks later. I do like to see my patients back two weeks later for a quick recheck. At that visit, we can determine whether the appropriate dose was used, or if we need to add more.

After this first treatment and the two week follow-up visit, I have “learned” what Botox dose is ideal for this patient for future treatments. My suggestion would be to go to www.botoxcosmetic.com and find a board certified facial plastic surgeon, plastic surgeon, or dermatologist to perform these injections.

Usually, those practices listed near the top are those that have the highest volume of Botox patients. (Anurag Agarwal, MD, Naples Facial Plastic Surgeon)
