Forehead Wrinkles At 30
Forehead wrinkles – botox vs laser?
When we raise our eyebrows, we make horizontal forehead lines. Laser can help to improve the deep etched in lines in the skin, but unless we selectively weaken these muscles with a neuromodulator like botox, the lines will persist and come right back after treatment.
My typical approach would be to start with botox, and if there are persistent deep lines to consider adding laser treatments. Make sure to see a board certified facial plastic surgeon, cosmetic dermatologist, general plastic surgeon, or occuloplastic surgeon as there can be problems in this area if botox is administered excessively. (Daniel J. Givens, MD, Dubuque Facial Plastic Surgeon)
What is the best treatment for forehead wrinkles?
Being just 30 years old you are a great candidate for Botox. Other procedures might be too invasive for your age.(Manelic Mejia Lopez, MD, Dominican Republic Plastic Surgeon)
Best age for forehead wrinkles at age 30.
Botox is a wonderful treatment for forehead wrinkles in your age group. I started at age 30 and have never looked back. A consultation with an experienced injector is the best way to finalize your decision.
Botox will normally relax the lines very nicely. Normally treatments are done 3-4 times per year to maintain the results, but you can always try it just once to see how you like it. (Nancy de Kleer, MD, FRCSC (Plast), Mississauga Plastic Surgeon)
The best treatment for forehead wrinkles is botulinum toxin injection. Be sure you see an experienced board certified dermatologist. (Melvin Elson, MD, Nashville Dermatologist)
Botox is likely the best first option for you. If your lines are deeper and static in nature, the combination of a little filler with Botox can produce excellent results. Lasers and other resurfacing procedures can be effective as well, but I usually employ these options for older patients.
I advise an in-person consultation for a more informed recommendation. (Mark Been, MD, Chicago Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Treatment of forehead wrinkles depends on cause
Forehead wrinkles can be caused by either sun damage, aging, or a hyperactive muscle.
The first two are not likely at your age. The third is often associated with droopy eyebrows so that the muscle that pulls the brows up has to compensate.
If this is not the case with you then Botox would work best. (Richard Baxter, MD, Seattle Plastic Surgeon)
Botox is generally considered to be superior to lasers for lines and wrinkles caused by muscle contraction. I would need to see you to understand the cause of your wrinkles, but at your age, the most likely recommendation would be Botox or Dysport. (Aldo Guerra, MD, Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon)
Botox for Wrinkles
Botox is a neurotoxin indicated to prevent and or minimize lines and wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the muscle. I do recommend seeking an experienced injector. If the problem is deeper, however, involving skin texture and tone, laser may be an option. (Craig Jonov, MD, DDS, Lynnwood Physician)
The best and least invasive procedure to take care of forehead wrinkles is Botox injection. It’s very effective, with minimal to no side effects done properly. (Anteneh Roba, MD, Fairfax Physician)
Botox works very well to treat wrinkles that are caused from muscle activity. Finer wrinkles may be better treated with lasers. Based on your age, Botox will probably be the right choice.
It is a simple treatment with no downtime and lasts 3-4 months. I recommend visiting with an expert injector in your area for a consultation to see what is right for you. (Camille Cash, MD, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
At 30 with forehead wrinkles I am almost 100% sure the place to start is Botox. I think it will be very effective for you and it lasts about 3-4 months. If you continue to have some fine lines after the Botox then likely some form of skin care will also help.
I bet you can do something that is less invasive and less downtime than a laser. But definitely Botox is the place to start. (Mark T. Boschert, MD, Saint Louis Plastic Surgeon)
I would definitely recommend doing botox as it should resolve your wrinkles 99% of the time. Lasers are being used in the older population or people with severe sun damage. (Leonard Grossman, MD, New York Physician)
Forehead wrinkles can be improved with Botox. Deeper wrinkles need a combination of Botox with fillers, lasers and microneedling/prp. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. (Jason Emer, MD, Los Angeles Dermatologic Surgeon)
Best Treatment for Forehead Wrinkles
Whether you are referring to the lines that run horizontally on your forehead or the lines between your eyebrows, the most effective treatment would be a neuromodulator like BOTOX Cosmetic, Xeomin or Dysport.
As the lines come from movement and expression, the only treatment to specifically target the cause of the lines is a treatment that will temporarily relax the muscles causing the lines to appear. I recommend consulting an experienced dermatologist to determine what the best approach is for you. (Manish Khanna, MD, FRCP(C), Montreal Dermatologic Surgeon)
Botox for forehead lines
Lines on the forehead appear because we move the forehead too much. They are known as dynamic lines. Botox will stop the movement and often lift the forehead. If the lines are not too deep then they will respond to just the botox treatment.
If they are deep, you may need another treatment modality to treat the lines, such as laser or fine fillers. You can test this yourself by attemtping to smooth out the forehead with your fingers.
Open up the fingers. If the lines disappear then botox alone should help. Given the chance, the skin will replenish the lines with time but you may need to be patient – say one year. (Elisabeth Dancey, BM, BCAM, London Physician)
Botox for the win!
Botox is an excellent and necessary first step in attacking the age related wrinkles we all receive over time. By paralyzing the underlying muscle, we are able to attack the wrinkles at the source: the underlying facial muscles, specifically the Frontalis muscle in the forehead.
An experienced injector will be able to inject this large muscle with spot injections, as no two faces are the same and each face needs an individualized physician approach.
As far as laser treatments go, IPL (intense pulsed light) is an excellent ADJUNCTIVE treatment, meaning its a great add-on and can be don relatively frequently to maintain and improve skin tone and texture. (Daniel Moghadam, MD, Santa Monica Physician)
Botox is an excellent way to treat forehead wrinkles. Botox is a purified protein, which works by relaxing the muscles when it is injected. As the facial muscles relax, the overlying skin and wrinkles will relax as well.
With time, you should notice a reduction in the number of lines in the forehead overall. As far as a laser treatment, I would start with a IPL treatment or photofacial. This can be used in combination with your Botox injections to help give overall improvement in the forehead.
Be sure to consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon who has experience injecting Botox for a full evaluation. (David Gilpin, MD, Nashville Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Botox is an excellent approach to treating deep seated wrinkles on the face and specifically the forehead. We recommend starting with Botox and then using laser in conjunction down the road depending on the results you see.
Botox typically lasts 3 months and can wear off sooner the more active you are. It is a quick and safe way to relax fine lines and wrinkles with beautiful results! (Michael E. Ciaravino, MD, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
Botox should be the first attack on wrinkles. the more expressions you make the deep these lines will get over time. Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, relax the muscles making the wrinkles less apparent, or even erase them completely.
laser can be done in conjunction with Botox, but if you had to choose one, I would start with Botox and see how you like it. Any Toxin can last about 3-6 months, depending on the person and how they metabolize, or break down the product, and the person’s muscle pull.
Most people need treatments 2-3 times a year. (Stephen T. Greenberg, MD, Woodbury Plastic Surgeon)
Treating forehead lines with Botox/Dysport
Wrinkle relaxers like Botox and Dysport are the best treatment available for dynamic upper face lines (forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet). I would combine this with a good daily skincare regimen (include antixoidant, sunscreen, retinol) and regular chemical peels or gentle laser treatments (Clear + Brilliant). (Shaun Patel, MD, Miami Physician)
Botox for forehead wrinkles
The best place to start is with Botox. Botox will relax the muscles that are “chiseling” these hyperdynamic lines of expression. Simply stated, when you raise your eyebrow by using your forehead muscles, you create the lines.
Over many years, the lines will be “chiseled” into the skin unless you use a product like Botox to prevent this type of aging. Botox will wear off in approximately three months, so if you do not like it you can discontinue use at any time. (Alexis Parker, MD, Denver Physician)
At 30 you’re probably starting to get some movement lines. Botox is a neurotoxin injection into the muscle that temporarily relaxes the muscles in your forehead relieving you from frowning or squinting.
This will help in preventing the wrinkles from getting any worse as well. It usually only last 3-4 months and you will have to continue to do the treatments to keep these results. If you have resting lines in your forehead you may consider laser or filler depending on where the wrinkles are and how deep they are. (Doohi Lee, MD, Plano Physician)
