Botox is injected into the masseter muscle to slim the jaw (the posterior jaw). If you bite down, you can palpate the muscle- this is the area that would be targeted. You already have wonderful features and this may be a small tweak but address your concern.

Ww admire your thoughtful approach in wanting to tackle the various issues in order and to maximize results! The Fraxel laser would be a great procedure to resurface your skin, thereby improving texture, reducing sun damage (you had a skin cancer), and helping fade acne scars! I would start there!

All restylane-family of fillers, including Restylane-L, Restylane Lyft, Refyne and Defyne are hyaluronic acid fillers that are mostly the same ingredients. Based on the photo it appears that there is a pocket of fat that would be amenable to treatment with Kybella (injection) or liposuction. Kybella is less invasive since it is not surgery but requires multiple session (3-4) for best results. Another option is SculpSure Neck which is a laser that is fixed to your neck for 25 minutes.  You need to have an in person consultation and decide whether you want surgery or not. According the company that manufactures the Emsculpt device, the following is true: first, four sessions spaced at least 48 hours apart, and over a two week period are done; followed by maintenance sessions at least two more times at the 3 month mark. Hi! There are different types of Fraxel. But regardless, the recommended wait time between sessions is typicallt 4-6 weeks. More specifically, if the “Fraxel” was set to target wrinkles then I would wait 6-8 weeks, to allow new collagen growth. If it was for brown spots then 4 weeks would be sufficient (although the downtime is truly 10 days, which doesn’t give you much of a break!!).

Hi! One approach would be to start with one syringe of a deep, thicker filler such as Defyne or Juvederm Ultra Plus to build up the chin bone, as if you were getting a chin implant. The injections would be placed deep on the frontal portion of the chin bone.  Another approach would be to do the above, plus an additional (second) syringe along the marionette lines - which are the shadows that start at the corner of mouth and go downward. I agree that the temples are an area that can become concave and hence age a person. My go-to filler for the temple area is not Voluma. This is a very thick filler with great lifting capacity but it is not FDA approved for the temple nor would most providers use it off label even, since there are other safer options for the that area.

The medicine is dosed by your weight and if you had sides effects, the doctor is likely trying to keep the dose low even though it sounds like you could take a higher dose. But, although the course will take longer now that you’re on a lower dose, in the end, you should still have a great result.  The purging is not a scientific phase.  It just means you still have acne and your oil glands haven’t been shut down yet! It takes time. Best.
