Would a lower facelift help to remedy my issue?
Face/neck rejuvenation
Feb 17, 2021
There are several options, like you mentioned. The main question is what is it that bothers you the most.
Fillers can help with the shadows/creases at the corners of the mouth and the slight shadow (i.e. early jowling) at the junction of the chin and jawline. Filler can also be used to slightly enhance the chin. Overall, you look like you are very young and you can definitely except some significant change with filler alone. Another option is fat grafting (where a small amount of your own…
Lift, fillers, threads, what would you suggest?
Facial Rejuvenation: Facelift
Feb 17, 2021
There are several options, like you mentioned. However, a facelift/necklift will result in the most significant improvement. Unlike fillers (which only treat volume loss), thread lifts (which only temporarily suspend the tissues) or laser (can help with surface texture and skin discolorations), a facelift is the most comprehensive at addressing the deeper structures of the face by lifting the deeper fat compartments, removal of some excess skin, and helps re-volumize areas of the face that…
Should I just go ahead and get the face lift or just better fillers in the right places?
Facelift vs. Fillers
Dec 2, 2020
The most effective treatment is a facelift with fat grafting (may consider lower eyelid surgery as well). The reason a facelift + fat grafting is the most effective is because it addressed several of your concerns including 1) loss of facial volume, 2) loosening of the deeper tissues & 3) redundant skin – this way, jowls and neck changes, and loss of volume of the upper cheeks, marionette lines, and smile lines can all be improved upon.
Fillers only address loss of volume and do nothing to…
Need advice. Endoscopic midfacelift, deep plane facelift. No longer filler/threadlift
Deep plane facelift, lower blepharoplasty and fat grafting
Oct 30, 2020
It is important to weight the potential benefits and risks with all procedures, especially aesthetic surgery. While a midface lift can help improve the appearance of “heavy” cheeks, especially the appearance of deep smile lines extending to the base of the nose, a midface lift carries a relatively high risk of causing changes in the shape and position of the lower eyelid (which can be disfiguring). Midface lifts became very popular several decades ago but have gradually fallen out of favor…
Do I need alar base reduction, sill reduction or both?
Alar Base and/or Sill Reduction
Oct 30, 2020
It is an excellent question and it depends patient to patient. To narrow the base of the nose, it depends on how much of the “excess” width is due to wide ala and/or a wide nostril sill. Based on the photos you provided, it appears that the “excess” is due to both, so I would recommend an excision that includes both the nostril sill and alar base – this can be performed via a single incision on each side.
Can a facelift fix droopy face & overfilled Radiesse?
Radiesse Overfilled cheeks
Sep 30, 2020
Unfortunately, the best option at this time is to wait. Although the manufacturer of the product states Radiesse lasts 1 year, the truth is it can last 2 years or more. Unlike other facial fillers, Radiesse cannot be dissolved.
Regarding a facelift, you are very young. You would have to be evaluated in person by a plastic surgeon for better assessment. I would recommend waiting a minimum of 2 years after Radiesse injection and determine any subsequent potential interventions at that time….
In need of lip lift and lower facelift. Which do I do first?
Lip lift + Facelift
Sep 30, 2020
Both these procedures can be safely performed during the same operation. These procedures are commonly performed together as they are complimentary to help achieve a rejuvenated appearance of the lower face. Regarding the exact sequence (i.e. facelift vs. lip lift first), this is dependent on the surgeons preference.
Mommy makeover and BBL. Should I get it all at once, or wait?
Combined mommy makeover & BBL
Sep 30, 2020
This is a great and common question. The short answer is yes, a BBL can be combined with other surgery including a mommy makeover. However, the main concern with combined surgery is the length of surgery (limiting the time under anesthesia). A general guideline is to not exceed 6 hours of surgery for elective cases. Many surgeons may have a different opinion of this (i.e. suggest shorter or longer upper limit of time under anesthesia). Nonetheless, the risk of anesthetic complications…
The inner corner of upper eyelids are lifting up, is there a way to fix that?
Rising inner eyelid crease
Sep 30, 2020
Aging is a complex gradual process and this is not due to previous eyelid taping. Hollowing of the upper eyelid (specifically the inner aspect) and elevation of the eyelid crease is very common with aging and is likely due to a combination of small changes in fat distribution and potentially due to changes in the muscle that elevate the upper eyelid. There are other potential causes of changes in eye/eyelid appearance, but this could only evaluated for after an in person consultation…
Is a drainless facelift more dangerous?
Facelift & Drains
Sep 1, 2020
The use of drains after a facelift is dependent on surgeons preference and the surgical technique used as there are many variations in facelift techniques. Generally, the more work that is done in the neck and lower face, the more likely a surgeon is to use a drain because more fluid may accumulate. Drains help remove fluid and prevent it from accumulating. Whether or not a surgeon uses a drain is a minor detail and I recommend that this not be the reason to choose one surgeon versus another…
