Can Botox work on only part of your face?

Sorry this happened! I always ask my patients to come back if they notice something unexpected or something they don’t like after treatment with botox. Examples of problems could be injection site selection, dilution of product or even a “bubble” in the syringe. The good news is you are not resistant to botox. Generally speaking, if it works on one area, it should work where ever injected so it is worth a try to go back to the treatment that was working for you…

I usually tell my patients to expect swelling in the lip area for 1-2 weeks. Lip injections do swell a LOT and it is often hard to tell how the final augmentation will look until after the swelling resolves. Try to wait 2 weeks unless of course you have additional symptoms other than swelling and reevaluate your lips when they have healed. If you are still unhappy, you can elect to have the filler dissolved.

Thank you for your questions. To do a thorough assessment, we would need to see you in person, but from looking at your photos you appear to be an ideal candidate. Most patients in this practice need between 4 and 8 vials total with the treatments being spread out every 4-6 weeks, or longer if the patient prefers. Hi Selena 90, thank you for your question and photographs. I would advise you to return to your injector, you likely need a few more units on that side. However, an in-person assessment is necessary to determine what the specific cause is, especially if you got the same number of units in both sides.

Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, it is likely the botox that caused your situation. When the muscle under the eyelid is weakened, this type of “pooch” can occur. In time, it will wear off and you should return to your pre-botox appearance. I hope you returned to your injector to show him/her, they should know about your unpleasant outcome.

My lips very uneven and bumpy after 1 syringe of Juvederm after 5 days. Will this even out?

Hi,
It is not uncommon to have “bumps” after lip augmentation. Massage the bumps a few times a day until they soften, if after 2 weeks they are still bumpy, return to your injector. I really like using a cannula for lips, I get much smoother results.

Thank you for your question! From your photograph it appears you would need fewer treatments, but I tell everyone to plan on a minimum of 2 treatments of 2 vials. I have only had one patient ever who only wanted 1 vial and was thrilled with the result. the great thing about Kybella is also the worst thing.
