Thank you for your question.I am truly sorry for your surgical outcome. At this time you should wait a minimum of 6 months before considering revisional surgery. Surgical revision is not a simple task so please proceed with caution as you choose your surgeon.Experience is everything! Your labia must be examined carefully before proceeding to surgery. Thank you for your question.When you decide to proceed to having a Labiaplasty it is important not to go to your consult requesting a particular procedure but instead let your surgeon determine the best surgical type after you explained your desires and he or she has done a complete evaluation of your labial tissue.Also ask to see pictures of the surgeons previous work because more then likely you will see someone with similar concerns as you. Thank you for your question.Most patients will undergo a perineoplasty because the vaginal opening has become or has more laxity then the patient is comfortable with. Some of the reasons are tears or episiotomy from childbirth, trauma, genetics or aging to name a couple. However,your history and physical will direct your surgeon on the best course of action after the exam.Good luck.

Thank you for your question. The recovery from a perineoplasty is different for every patient just as any recovery is different for any surgery a patient is undergoing. Most patients have discomfort for 4 to 7 days and then have a 5 week recovery. It is important for you to be absolutely sure why you are having this surgical procedure and not a more extensive reconstruction.Most patients requesting surgery after childbirth will need more then a perineoplsty.Good luck.

Thank you for your question.It is not uncommon to have discomfort after having had a perineoplasty. It is important to use plenty of lubricant during your first few weeks of sexual activity. Sexual activity should not begin for a minimum of six weeks post-op or when your surgeon evaluates you and gives you the go ahead to resume normal activity .If the pain persists please see your surgeon for evaluation.Good luck.

Than you for your question.Spontaneous vaginal delivery, although considered the safest form for childbirth can cause severe damage to the vaginal canal as well as the vaginal introitus (opening). Thank you for your question.It is not uncommon to have prolonged swelling after labiaplasty, so follow all of your post-op instructions from your surgeon. The swelling will cause the suture line to become painful. At this time, continued patience is important. If you are concerned, following up with your OB/GYN is a good idea, but make sure he/she is experienced in Female Genital Cosmetic Surgery, if not, ask them to refer you to a surgeon in your area who is. In my experience sculptra is a great filler for patients who understand that it is a filler that might take 2 to 3 treatment before your results are noticeable. After viewing your picture my recommendation to you is to allow the surgical site to heal completely and in six months consider a revision if you are not satisfied with the way that the perineal tear healed. Thank you for your question.  The scalloped edges are a result of suture technique and may soften over the next few months, but not completely resolve. However, you should wait 6 months before considering any additional treatments or revisional surgery.
