Acupuncture for aging?
Acupuncture and the aging face.. it’s worth a try
Dec 19, 2019
Hi. It is believed by some practitioners of acupuncture that acupuncture can enhance skin elasticity, dermal contraction, reduce pore size, and address a number of factors that contribute to wrinkles and sagging skin associated with the aging. There is no conclusive medical evidence at this point to strongly support or refute those claims.
But, it is a safe, non-invasive, natural procedure that is definitely worth a try. I would encourage anyone interested in the acupuncture…
What is Acupuncture?
What is acupunctute?
Dec 19, 2019
Hello, thaks for your question. Acupuncture originated thousands of years ago in the far east. It was believed that humans posess a natural energy, or life force, called “qi.” Qi circulates freely through the body along invisible tracts known as “meridians.” When qi freely circulates, good physical, mental and emotional well-being is maintained. When Qi is blocked, deficient, or stagnant, pain and illness result.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of small needles at specific…
Spironolactone for acne? Is it safe with someone with a history of blood clots?
Spironolactone and history of blood clots
Dec 11, 2019
Hello,
Spironolactone is safe to use in someone with a history of blood clots. It is a good choice for women with acne that is related to hormones and who have tried and failed other treatments. Spironolactone can cause your potassium levels to increase, so in some people your doctor may choose to monitor your potassum with blood work while you are on this medication. You should see your dermatologist who can evaluate your history and decide if Spironolactone would be a good…
What is best treatment for deep wrinkles on lower face and sound the mouth?
Treatment for deep wrinkles and lower mouth
Dec 11, 2019
Hello,
That is a great question. Many times a combination of fillers and Botox can give excellent results. For example, a filler in the midface, which can add volume and lift to the cheek area, will have the added benefit of helping the deeper wrinkles in the lower face. Adding another filler to the area around the lower mouth that fills these lines could give you the result you are looking for. Botox injections in the lower face can also help with lines around the mouth…
What is Optimal Percentage of Tretinoin?
Tretinoin: how much is enough
Nov 28, 2019
I’m impressed you are being proactive and protecting your skin at such a young age! In general, if your skin is tolerating the 0.05 % without peeling, redness, or other side effects, and you are enjoying the results you see, there may not be a good reason to increase the dose. Remember, with higher doses you may experience increased side effects such as skin peeling, dryness, and sensitivity to the sun. You must always wear sunscreen, Also, tretinoin is…
What is the best non-surgical treatments for wrinkles between the eyes?
Treat those wrinkles between the eyes!
Nov 28, 2019
This is a great question because there is no single answer! We have a variety of treatments we use to tackle this common problem: injectables such as BOTOX and dermal fillers, microneedling with or without Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF), non-ablative fractional laser treatments, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion, to name a few.
The best regimen for you would be determined at the time of your consultation with your physician.

Do fillers stretch the skin + is it ok to get them after a facelift?
Fillers after facelift
Nov 28, 2019
Hello,

It sounds like you got an excellet result after your face lift. Fillers are designed to add volume to tissue that is lost in the aging process. As a result they smoothe creases and wrinkles and improve skin texture. Although theoretically possible, I have not seen a filler “stretch” the skin. Adding a filler after a facelift is commonly done, and I think this is definitely and option you should discuss with your surgeon.

Good Luck to you!

As a woman can I take feminizing hormone pills?
Are hormones the answer?
Nov 21, 2019
Thanks for your question. I’m sorry you are having trouble loving your body right now. I can tell you are frustrated. Hormone treatments are nothing to be taken lightly. The first thing you should do is consult an endocrinologist or functional medicine specialist who can perform the appropriate lab tests to determine if there is some underlying medical condition that is manifesting itself thought your appearance. This physician should be able to go from there to help…
