What can I do to fix my under eye bags?
Under eye bags
Sep 20, 2019
Thank you for your question. From your photo you appear to be a good candidate for a lower eyelid blepharoplasty, likely with fat repositioning. Laser resurfacing under the eyes may also assist in tightening the under eye skin. I recommend getting a consultation with a board certified Oculoplastics or Facial Plastic surgeon to discuss treatment. Best of Luck!
What will create a more youthful and rested appearance? I'm 33 years old.
Under eye treatment
Sep 20, 2019
Thank you for your question. As we age we lose volume around our eyes, the fat pads descend in our cheeks and the thin skin under our eyes wrinkles. To improve the contour and skin quality under your eyes a combination approach to restore volume and tighten the skin would give you the best results. Dermal fillers to fill the hollows and laser resurfacing (fractionated CO2 laser) to smooth the skin would rejuvenate the area under your eyes providing a well-rested,...
What are these dips near my undereye and how do I get rid of them? Is it collagen or fat loss? (Ph
Under eye hollowing
Sep 18, 2019
Thank you for your question. As we age the fat pads in our cheeks descend, the bone around the orbit expands and the fat from around the eye bulges forward. This combination forms a hollowing under the eye called the tear trough deformity. There are many surgical and non-surgical options for correction. Dermal fillers (placed by an experienced injector) and laser resurfacing can fill the hollow and tighten the skin. Surgical options include lower lid...
What are the best treatment options for undereye hollows due to thin skin?
Under eye hollows
Sep 18, 2019
Thank you for your question. An excellent treatment for under eye hollowing correction is dermal filler placed deep on top of the bone around the orbit. From the photograph you provided, it appears you would be a candidate for correction by an experienced injector. Filler placed too superficially can be seen through thin skin. If you did not want to try fillers, laser resurfacing (fractionated CO2) can tighten the skin under the eyes or surgical options (fat...
What to do with under eye wrinkles and skin?
Under eye wrinkles
Sep 5, 2019
Thank you for your question and the photos. Fractional CO2 laser works very well for treating the wrinkled skin under the eyes. It tightens and resurfaces the skin as well as stimulates the skin to produce more collagen in the months following the procedure. You can also do a surgical "skin pinch" procedure where we removed the excess skin just under the lash line. I recommend a consultation with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to discuss all of your options...
Dark eyes, what do I do?
Dark circles under eyes
Sep 5, 2019
Dark circles under the eyes can be genetic and they can also form as we lose volume around our eyes and get shadowing. If the topical creams have not worked you may want to consider placing dermal fillers in the hollows (tear troughs) to eliminate the shadowing. I think you would be very happy with the results. I recommend going to a board certified physician for consultation and treatment options. Best of luck!

Under eye dark circles
Sep 5, 2019
Thank you for your question and the photos. You have significant hollowing under your eyes. You can see the prominence of the fat pads under your eyes. Placing dermal filler in those hollows (tear troughs) will greatly improve the shadowing and provide you with a "well rested" look. The skin of the lower eyelids appears well resurfaced and smooth from the laser (which treats the skin only). You can also have a lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) to remove the...
What can I do about under eye wrinkles at the age of 24?
Under eye skin
Sep 3, 2019
Thank you for your question. The thin skin under the eyes can be one of the first signs of aging. Regular Botox treatment will help prevent the lateral lower eye wrinkling. Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is excellent at improving the texture and tightening the under eye skin. There is a recovery time for the laser of 3-7 days depending on how aggressive the treatment is, but the results are worth it. Good luck!

Excess skin between the eyes
Sep 3, 2019
Thank you very much for your question. I would recommend you consult with a Board Certified Facial Plastic surgeon to discuss options of rhinoplasty and/or epicanthal fold (webbing at the corner of the eye) surgery. It is difficult to tell from the photo what would be needed for a rhinoplasty. If the bridge of your nose was too low, augmenting that area would support the skin. A physical exam by an experienced surgeon would provide you the best options. Best of...
I look like I have scars but in bright light the skin looks like it has even surface. Is this PIH?
Skin texture
Sep 3, 2019
Thank you for your question. From the photos it appears that you have some mild scarring and irregularities to the skin. They appear to decrease with the flash or bright sunlight because the added light removes the shadowing caused by the scars. Fractionated CO2 lasers are excellent at improving scars and texture of the skin. Performed by experienced, qualified providers only the outer layers of the skin are treated and should not have any effect on the fat or cause...
Do ablative lasers destroy hair follicles?
Laser and hair growth
Sep 3, 2019
Acne scars can be safely treated with fractionated CO2 lasers. The CO2 laser targets the water in the skin and does not have an impact on hair growth. Lasers for hair removal use a different wavelength to target the pigment in the hair and are specifically designed for hair removal. In over ten years of CO2 laser treatments I have not had a patient notice any changes in facial hair. You are safe to treat your acne scars and still grow a beard. Hope...
Which laser would be best for addressing peri oral wrinkles and lower face wrinkles?
Laser for facial wrinkles
Sep 1, 2019
Hello. A Fractionated CO2 laser would give you excellent results. Since you have tried less invasive treatments in the past I would recommend an aggressive CO2 treatment with one week of down time. It would provide you with the results you desire and improve the texture and quality of the skin. The laser stimulates collagen production in the skin so your skin quality will continue to improve in the months following the procedure. I recommend consultation...
Will having laser treatment(s) hinder my ability to have facial plastic surgery done in the future
Laser resurfacing and Facial Surgery
Sep 1, 2019
Thank you for your question. Laser treatment of the facial skin will have no effect on future facial surgery. It is standard in my practice to do both. Facial rejuvenation is a combined approach of neuromodulators (botox and dysport), dermal fillers, laser resurfacing and surgical lifting. It is important to have smooth, thick quality skin to lift and reposition with a facelift. Depending on my patients needs, schedules and desires for surgery,...
Can you have laser resurfacing in an area that you have a tattoo (that you don't want to remove)?
Laser resurfacing and tattoo
Sep 1, 2019
Thank you for your question. The pigment of a tattoo is deposited deep in the skin. To remove a tattoo you need a high energy laser designed to target the specific color of the tattoo (there are different lasers for different colors). Laser resurfacing to improve skin quality typically has a different target and should not have any effect on a tattoo. I would recommend consultation with a board certified physician to discuss options for treatment. Good luck!
Can the skin on the hands be resurfaced? Or at least reconditioned?
Resurfacing Hands
Sep 1, 2019
Thank you for your question. Hands are an obvious sign of aging and they can be treated to improve the appearance. Newer CO2 lasers have attachments specifically designed to safely treat the hands with no down time. Chemical peels and BBL (broad band light) can improve pigment changes. Dermal fillers can be safely injected into the back of hands to improve texture. If you are interested in improving the quality of your hands I would recommend consultation...
