This may sound silly but could I cause damage by accidentally hurting myself 4.5 weeks post op?
Trauma to breasts after breast augmention
Feb 26, 2019
Thank you for your question and for sharing your experience. The most important thing for you to do is to be evaluated by a board certified plastic surgeon. Physical exam along with the description of your symptoms are vital to your healing process and success of your breast augmentation. We’d be happy to help you along the way.
When getting breast enlargement surgery, is it OK to have surgery if you have clear braces on you
Breast Augmentation with braces on teeth
Feb 26, 2019
Thank you for your question and for sharing your experience with us. Orthodontics (including braces) are not a problem when undergoing any plastic surgery procedure. Anesthesia is in charge of your airway. Braces do not block your airway, so you’re OK to proceed. We'd love to see you for a consult.
It’s is normal for one breast implant to be slightly firmer than the other if it’s a larger impla
Post-operative breast implant firmness/hardness
Feb 25, 2019
Thank you for your question and sharing your experience with us. At 3.5 months, you should be settled in your breast augmentation recovery. The implants should be soft and not painful. This issue is best handled with a physical exam to evaluate the implants. You should make an appointment with your plastic surgeon. If you still need help, we would be happy to see you in a consultation to help you through this journey.
Is the boob size getting smaller after breast reduction?
Post operative swelling after a breast reduction
Feb 25, 2019
Thank you for your question and sharing your experience with us. Yes your swelling can continue to resolve for up to 1 year. I like to say that roughly at 3 months, you’re about 50% done with the swelling. And at 6 months around 75% done with the post-op swelling. If you have any more questions, we’d love to see you for a consultation.
Can I do Botox the same day if I'm a ballet teacher?
Exercise after Botox
Feb 21, 2019
Thank you for sharing your question with us. I recommend not to exercise for the first 24 hours after injection, because you do not want the botox to spread. People have to live, so in your case I would recommend not placing your face down (like in a forward bend) or going upside down. I hope this helps! We'd love to see you in the office!
2 days post op, one breast is significantly larger. Is this normal? Concerned that my doctor took
Asymmetric Healing after Breast Reduction Surgery
Feb 21, 2019
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Our goal as board certified plastic surgeons, is to create as close to symmetric breasts during breast reduction surgery, which may include removing more breast tissue from one side than the other. All women initially are slightly asymmetric and the way you swell can be asymmetric. However, most important is that your surgeon should examine you to make sure you do not have a collection of fluid (hematoma/seroma). This...
I have a hole in my nipples from a breast reduction. What should I do?
Nipple necrosis
Feb 21, 2019
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I'm very sorry that you're going through this wound on your breasts. Unfortunately this is one of the rare complictions of a breast reduction. With careful wound care of dressing changes, you will most likely heal and the scab with go away. You have to keep it clean and dry. It it best to follow up with your surgeon who performed this surgery. We're very happy to see you and help you along with your healing process.
4 months post op breast reduction and lipo, I still wake up sore. Why is that?
Pain 4 months after breast reduction surgery
Feb 21, 2019
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. The soreness that you're feeling maybe normal 4 months after a breast reduction with liposuction. Each surgeon's technique is unique and depending on how much liposuction your surgeon did, how much tumescent they placed in, where exactly in the body they did the liposuction, depends on your recovery. Sometime scar tissue may form and that can be what's causing you pain. Usually massage and warm compresses can help. What most important is to...
Does a breast reduction revision take less time to perform?
Post Operative incision / scar pain
Feb 21, 2019
Thank you for sharing your concern and experience with us. Scars can take up to 1 year to fully mature. Along the way they can harden, change in color, experience jolting sensations. These are all normal experiences. Once your scars are healed, which usually take 2-3 weeks after a breast reduction, you should be using a silicone based scar gel/cream and performing massage to the area to help break down the hard scar tissue that formed. This will also allow for the desentization of the...
What kinda breast lift would be best for little scarring?
Breast Lift
Aug 1, 2018
Minimal scar breast lifts all involve some form of incision around your areola. The majority of women need not just a lift, but tightening of the skin as well. The more skin that needs to be removed, the larger the required scar. Most modest lifts can be done through a Lollipop technique. However, a lift alone does not result in a significant improvement in cleavage. It mainly refers to the position of the nipple and areola in relation to your breast. ...
What are the signs of a fractured nose or septum?
Fractured Nose or Septum
Jul 20, 2018
The most sensitive sign of a fracture to the nose or septum is pain. However, many people that have pain after a nose injury do not have a fracture of their bone or their septum. The pain can be due to swelling and bruising. Other signs you may have a more severe injury are the amount of swelling or bruising of the nose or even around the eyes. Bleeding after and injury is also a sign, but can also be due to small tears or injuries to the sensitive tissue within your...
What's the best breast lift surgery with less scar?
Breast Lift Scar
Jul 16, 2018
Hello, Incisions and the resulting scars after breast lift are usually tailored to the patient and the existing anatomy. Each technique has some benefits as well as some downsides. Patients who need very little lift and desire larger breasts or more fullness up top may be candidates for a breast augmentation alone. You can see a small lift with this procedure depending on the desired breast size. There are several ways to perform a breast lift. Here are some of...
Is there a better lip augmentation treatment than Juvederm and Juvederm Plus?
Options for lip filler
Jul 13, 2018
I'm sorry you cannot get the long lasting result you desire. The hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, like Juvederm, are your best option for easy lip augmentation. HA fillers absorb water, which is why for the first week or so the lips look very full, and then as the water is absorbed settle down. Different patients retain their HA product for different periods of time, but in general 6 months on average. Other HA products such as Restalyn may provide you with...
Does a Vampire facelift work really well?
Vampire facial
Jul 12, 2018
The vampire facial is very effective at improving the color and texture of skin, giving it a healthy quality and appearance without significant downtime. It usually takes several treatments around a month apart, but often patients notice positive changes after even one session. However, it does not take the place of routine maintenance therapy. Skin care should be a daily habit consisting of an appropriate facial wash, moisturizer and sunscreen. The vampire...
How long before you can see the results when you get Botox?
Time of onset for Botox
Jul 9, 2018
You may notice Botox beginning to work within 3-5 days. However, it typically takes around 10 days for max effect. The effectiveness and length of effect varies depending on the patient but lasts around 3 months for most people. Also what neuromodulator is used (Dysport, Xeomin, Botox) and the dose administered can also affect your onset, result, and length of effectiveness.
