Answer Snippet
What procedure can lift the ends of the eyebrows without committing to a full brow lift?
Brow lift
Sep 16, 2019
Thank you for your question. You do have options besides a full brow lift. The least invasive option is with botox or another neurotoxin injected around the eye. This works to lift the tail of the eyebrow and some of the upper eyelid. This change is subtle but can be sufficient in some people. The other option is to perform a temporal brow lift which is done surgically. This doesn’t lift the rest of the eyebrow or the forehead.
Rhinoplasty and jaw enhancement? What are your opinions?
Rhinoplasty and Chin Augmentation
Sep 12, 2019
Thank you for your question. I think you assessment is accurate. You would benefit from a rhinoplasty in which the tip is refined and conservatively deprojected. For your lower face, if you’d like to forego orthographic surgery, a chin implant with mandible filler/jaw implants are good alternatives. Good luck!

Facial Rejuvenation
Sep 8, 2019
Thank you for your question and congratulations on your weight loss! While surgery will give the most dramatic result, there are several things that can be done to help with the skin sagging that you are experiencing. Devices including lasers and radiofrequency microneedling will help stimulate collagen production and improve the quality of your skin as well as give a conservative amount of lift. Strategically placed filler can also help lift the skin around your jawline…
Should I cut my face to remove end of pixie ear, please?
Pixie Ear
Sep 8, 2019
Thank you for your question. As you mentioned, the cause of the pixie ear is from tension on the ear lobe, pulling it down. The best way to repair a pixie ear deformity is to re-suspend the tissue underneath the skin (SMAS) and excise the scar from the previous surgery. This will ensure that there is no tension on the new scar. Depending on how much skin laxity there is, this may be done conservatively or you may require a revision of the facelift. Best of luck to you!
Can my nose be corrected further through open rhinoplasty?
Revision Rhinoplasty
Jul 1, 2019
Thank you for your question. Based on your photo, you may benefit from a revision rhinoplasty. It appears that your nose has collapsed which will require reconstruction. This is usually done with cartilage grafting (from your ear or rib). This will improve the appearance of your nose as well as the function of your airway. Revision rhinoplasty is challenging. Be sure to seek a board certified facial plastic or plastic surgeon with experience in revision rhinoplasty. Best…
Can a brow lift be done for a man with very limited amount of hair (almost bald)?
Browlift with thinning hair
Jun 24, 2019
There are a few ways to accomplish a brow lift in patients with thinning or no hair. The least invasive was is with a neuromodulator like botox which gives a subtle lift. If you require something more, the brows can be lifted endoscopically with smaller incisions in the scalp area, from the forehead if you have deep forehead lines or from the area just above the eyebrow. An in-person consultation with an experienced facial plastic or plastic surgeon will help determine what procedure is…
Do I have jowls? Do I need a facelift?
Facelift and Jowls
Jun 24, 2019
Thank you for your question. I do not see any jowls based on the photos you submitted. A facelift would address skin laxity which you also don’t appear to have. Definitely forego surgery as it is unnecessary for you. Good luck!
Can I get a minor revision rhinoplasty if my skin is thick?
Revision rhinoplasty
Jun 24, 2019
Given the thickness of your skin and the minimal changes you want to achieve, I would recommend waiting at least another year (likely longer) before considering revision surgery. The swelling in patients with thick skin can continue to improve several years after surgery. Another option would be to try medications to help decrease the sebaceous activity of the skin which contributes to thickness. Best of luck!
Can a rasping help address the issue of the bump on side of my nose 5 months post rhinoplasty? (Photo
5 months after rhinoplasty
Jun 9, 2019
Thank you for your question. I wouldn’t recommend an additional procedures at this point as you are still early in the healing process. You may find that as the swelling continues to improve, you might not need any intervention at all. Be sure to discuss any concerns with your surgeon.
Nostrils to narrow after rhinoplasty. Can these be widened?
Narrow Nostrils
Jun 9, 2019
It is possible to widen the nostrils following rhinoplasty. The technique used depends on why the nostrils are collapsed. Skin and/or cartilage may be needed to restore the natural appearance and function of the nostrils. Be sure to seek consultation from an expert on revision rhinoplasty. Good luck!

Rhinoplasty goals
May 16, 2019
It appears that your goals are realistic and you would benefit from a rhinoplasty. Photo morphing software is a terrific tool that you and your surgeon can use to communicate your expectations and what the surgeon believes he or she can achieve. Your skin is on the thicker side so the nose shouldn’t be made too small, otherwise the skin can sag. An experienced surgeon will be able to change the shape of your nose while preserving appropriate structure to prevent this from happening…
10 weeks PO. Can asymmetry, drooping and a possible polly beak be attributed to swelling? Will it res
Asymmetry after Rhinoplasty
May 16, 2019
Thank you for your question. The asymmetry that you see now can definitely be due to swelling. The two sides of the nose don’t heal at the same rate and we expect to see some asymmetry after the operation. Ten weeks is still very early in the recovery process and your nose appears as expected for this point in time. The nose will continue to heal over the next year. Be sure to discuss any concerns with your surgeon. Good luck!
58 yr old – Face/neck lift, lower eyelid & laser resurfacing. Recovery during hot summer months?
Best time for facelift
May 16, 2019
The procedures that you are considering may be done at any point in the year. There aren’t any special precautions that you would need to follow in August that wouldn’t apply in November. As you’ve mentioned, avoiding sun exposure is critical regardless of the time of year. Surgery should be done at a time that works best for your schedule so that you can recover without additional stress. Best of luck!
Upturned nose 5 days after rhinoplasty. Thoughts?
Upturned nose
May 14, 2019
As you mentioned, you are still very early in the recovery process. Swelling after surgery frequently causes the nose to appear upturned. This is especially true with the tape and cast still in place. You will see a gradual improvement over time. You will see your final result after about a year. It is impossible to say exactly how much it will come down but based on your photos, this is within the normal extent of what I see after rhinoplasty.
Good luck!
I’m seeing a slight deviation on my bridge! Is that deviation or swollen?
Asymmetry after surgery
Apr 17, 2019
There are several reasons that might explain why your bridge is asymmetric. The nose takes several months (in some cases a year or 2) to heal following rhinoplasty. The two sides of the nose heal asymmetrically, as any other part of the body. It also takes longer for the swelling to go down if you have thicker skin, which appears to be the case for you. Other reasons for asymmetry are scar tissue building up in that area, warping of the cartilage or asymmetric graft placement…
