What's the most effective treatment for my neck lines?
Necklace lines
Oct 13, 2021
These lines can be tricky as there are caused by flexing the neck down (like looking at screen) and often require a combination of treatments to help restore collagen. My first options is typically a fine line filler like Belotero which initially appears dopey then blends into the skin making a more smooth appearance. Lasers and other options on top can help with more long term restoration but my patients tend to be happiest with this option. Hope this helps as a general guide.
How can I make my face full again? I've lost a lot of volume in my lower cheeks and I look much
Lower cheek volume loss
Mar 28, 2021
Expert injectors have experience restoring volume in this area for a beautifully nuanced and optimized appearance. I would find a board certified dermatologist who performs a lot of injections as this area can be a bit more specialized and selecting the appropriate hyaluronic acid filler to give you your desired effect is key. I truly think you can feel more confident without your mask and still look entirely like yourself, natural and soft.
Alternatives to Botox for my forehead lines?
Forehead lines
Mar 20, 2021
Restricted motion can be minimized by using lower yet still effective doses of Botox or its alternative but similar products (Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau). There is data that repeat treat over time even at lower doses can decrease lines that are evident at rest. Filler in this area is high risk for complications including cases of blindness but can be done in very expert hands. You definitely need an injector who understands anatomy extremely well like a board certified cosmetic dermatologist...
Can you put fillers in the area above marionette lines?
Filler to the upper lip and philtrum region
Mar 6, 2021
It is definitely possible to use filler to harmonize and balance the upper lip. Defined philtral columns are considered a sign of youth and as we age the upper lip lengths and flattens so having structure in this region is wonderful, but you can also blend that area using filler in expert hands. I would seek out an experienced injector like a cosmetic fellowship trained board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who does a lot of facial optimizing. This is a more precise treatment and...
Is it safe to get Botox and then 4 days later the second dose of vaccine?
Vaccination and Botox
Mar 6, 2021
There is no data or reporting that suggests Botox (or any other brand of neuromodulator) and vaccination can't be done close together, within days or even on the same day. This is true for the new COVID vaccines as well. No bad reactions have been reported to the FDA reporting system or were seen in clinical trials. So it is safe to protect yourself against the pandemic and still look refreshed.
If I get Beletero injected into my forehead for static horizontal wrinkles, how long can it be e
how long with Belotero last
Sep 21, 2017
Overtime, we all develop lines and creases at rest (aka ones that are noticeable even when you are relaxed and not contracting your facial muscles). Belotero is wonderful filler for these individual lines, because it is made in such a way that you can inject the material very superficially without getting a blue hue (called the tyndall effect, seen with many other hyaluronic acid fillers) and because as it settles the Belotero seeps into the nooks and crannies of the skin leaving...
I am wondering if it's okay to use Adapalene after finishing your course on Accutane?
Adapalene after Accutane
Sep 21, 2017
Accutane (aka isotretinoin is the generic name) was a phenomenal advancement in the management of acne and is the only FDA-approved medication known to substantially change the course of disease. Sadly, it is not a silver bullet, and according to clinical studies and in my experience, many people need some type of ongoing acne management after they complete Accutane. Adapalene is one very good option, especially if your remaining acne is mild or your skin is...
