I agree with Dr Ruecki. You need to see a dermatologist for an acne treatment program. Accutane , which is a retinoid is used for more severe cystic acne. It often will put acne into remission when taken for 5 months at a dose of 0.5-1 mg/kg. Low dose Accutane will work while you are taking it , but in the long run , the acne is likely to recur. If you are female another alternative is an oral contreceptive that is approved for acne, sometimes combined with Spironolactone, which blocks female testosterone. This can also be combined with a topical retinoid.

I agree with the prior answer, a vascular laser such as the VBeam laser will work.Or, give the spot time to fade. it may take a year but the majority of red scars will fade to skin color within 1 year or so.

It sounds like you have early teenage acne. The first step is to try some OTC treatment such as a Salicylic Acid wash once or twice daily. If that is not effective , add in 5% Benzoyl Peroxide. If both together don’t work, I recommend that you see a dermatologist for prescription medication. And, don’t sqeeze acne bumps, you may cause scars.

Photodynamic therapy is FDA approved for treatment of precancers or actinic keratoses. They often occur on the scalp in men with hair loss or thinning hair. PDT is very effective treatment for this.
