What you describe as asymmetry is within the normal range of side to side variation. In fact you have very lovely full lips. However if this bothers you a smidgen of filler in the right upper lip would address. When you choose a doctor be sure to look at other lip augmentations that they have done before. Go with someone who has an eye for a subtlety. I would certainly recommend a thinner hyaluronic acid filler to achieve the result you are looking for

I absolutely do not recommend using Radiesse (Hydroxyapatite) for lip augmentation. This mineral based filler can feel like a stone in the lip. It is possible that the latest highly cross-linked HA fillers could last long enough to be worth your while. If you haven't you might try Vollure in the Juvaderm family.

I would recommend upper lip augmentation to address both the gummy smile and thin upper lip. One syringe should be sufficient to be effective. I would avoid neurotoxins such as botox, in this case. Enough weakening of the lip muscles to make a cosmetic effect could cause a problem with speaking, sipping and smiling.

Lets give it a try! Fillers could be a good solution. Scar tissue has a way of making lip augmentation a bit less predictable. Sometimes the scar acts as an internal baffle however you don't know until you try. Should it be an unacceptable result you can melt the filler using Hyaluronidase. If you get a good result it will last six months to a year and could address the asymmetry and the smile.

Yes it is possible. My trick is to stay very low and not to inject more than a finger breadth above the lower border of the chin. If you inject above this you can get weakening of the muscles that position the lips which results in asymmetry.

This sounds like a reasonable sequence. The only "rule" of timing is sequence of fillers and the more vigorous non-invasive therapies. So, if fillers are first, wait 3-4 months before Ulthera or Fraxel or the like. You can do fillers soon after these therapies allowing about 4 weeks for things to settle.

There's a spectrum of treatments for circles under the eyes from cosmetics to surgery. The treatments match the severity of the problem. So for your type of mild discoloration in a young person we might suggest Obagi's ELASTiderm Eye complete complex serum. It both camouflages the darkness and tightens the skin (which makes it appear lighter). More serious problems are dealt with by injecting filler under the skin. Rarely these problems are adjusted by surgical intervention.
