Yes, you would be a good candidate for a thread lift. It would take more than one session to get an optimal result though. The duration of a thread lift varies, but you would likely need a touch up treatment in about 6 months, then again in a one year. Most people and doctors don’t realize that there are cumulative results that come from placement of multiple threads over time. This is similar to facial fillers where we build results gradually, followed by m...

There are multiple non-surgical options for tightening skin in a situation like yours. In the past, our team has seen very positive results with the combination of microneedle treatments and Ultherapy.
More recently, we have been using PDO threads for this indication. This involves a series of treatments with subcutaneous volume generating PDO thread to help with skin and tissue laxity. This involves insertion of PDO threads into the deep dermal and ...

The dissolvable PDO threads that are available for use in the United States continue to improve. For the past 6 months I have using the Mint Fine PDO suspensory threads in my practice for thread lifting. In my opinion, they significantly outperform the threads from the previous three companies that I used.
The rates of complications is much lower, effectiveness is better, and PDO threads allow us to lift and elevate facial tissues without the risk and...

I have not used the silhouette threads, but have close colleagues who have been disappointed because of the higher cost and marginal benefits.
I have been using PDO threads since they were introduced into the U.S. market. I started with Novathreads, then transitioned to Rejuvn8, then Eurothreads, and currently am using HansBiomedical Mint PDO threads. In my opinion these Mint threads from South Korea represent a major advancement in PDO suspensory thread ...

I no longer use Bellafill as an under eye filler. The results can be great and permanent. But on the rare occasion that a nodule or granuloma develops, correcting this complication can be a major challenge. HA fillers or PDO threads are better options for under eye volume loss.
I hope that this information helps and best of luck to you!
Dec 18, 2018
Sorry to hear about your poor results from the PDO threads. In the several years that PDO threads have been available in the United States the quality and lifting power of the threads continue to improve. Also, clinicians are getting better at avoiding complications and are getting better results. One of the latest entries into the market is HansBiomedical and their line of Mint threads. These threads are heads and shoulders above the competition in my opinion....

Restoring or creating symmetry is one of the key elements of facial rejuvenation. This can be achieved to varying degrees by using a combination of facial fillers, neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin), and PDO threads.
One can improve a gummy smile by supporting the upper cutaneous lip with facial fillers and/or weakening the muscles that elevate the upper lip with Botox. Tactical Botox is usually effective to balance asymmetric brows, but so...

There is no reason that you would not be a candidate for facial fillers. I have treated 3 patients with EDS with facial fillers and have seen no problems.
In facial, one of my aesthetic assistants has EDS and has had multiple, laser, microneedle, facial filler, and Botox treatments over the past several years with no problems.
I hope that this information helps and best of luck to you!

The first thing that comes to mind is using facial fillers liquid face lift techniques to elevate the lower facial structures by placing fillers in the upper facial regions to restore lost volume and create upward lift.
Another non-surgical approach is to use suspensory PDO threads to lift the lower face. These absorbable PDO threads are inserted under the skin, attach to the deep dermis and the embedded barbs lift the tissue up and back. The results are...

Bellafill is the only FDA approved permanent filler. It is actually a hybrid- 80 percent bovine collagen and 20 percent of permanent PMMA,
In my opinion it is an ideal filler for deep structure, such as contouring the chin or jawline. But it is not a one-time procedure because the initial results diminish as the bovine collagen is reabsorbed. It does require a series of treatments, but the ultimate results are permanent.
I hope that this information...

I would not recommend Bellafill for the under eye region. I used to use Bellafill for the tear trough and the great majority of the time the results were excellent. However, if a nodule or granuloma develops in this region, because of the very thin skin, these complications may be difficult to correct.
There are a number of HA fillers that work well for the under eye region; Vollure, Bellatero, and Refyne are examples, and HA filler tends to last much longer...

There are a number of potential thread complications that may occur.
If a thread is literally sticking through the skin, it should be pulled out. If it a smooth thread it will typically come out easily by grasping the thread and pulling. If it is a barbed thread, it may be difficult to remove. If a barbed thread is stuck, then it should be pulled and cut at the level of the skin and allowed to retract under the skin.
If a thread if visible, but not poking...

Bellafill contains 80% bovine collagen and 20% PMMA microspheres. The PMMA is permanent so after a treatment at least 20% of the volume is guaranteed to stay. The wild card is how much collagen is produced as the bovine collagen is absorbed. As expected, advancing age leads to less collagen production. Overall health is another factor, individuals with poor health or chronic illness don’t produce as much collagen. Smokers also have deficiencies producing co...

One of the most significant areas to treat with facial fillers is the under eye region. A small amount of filler, when done properly, can erase years of aging and make one look less tired. The learning curve for injectors for this region is very steep and this makes it an advanced injection territory.
However, even when the under eye region is filled by an expert injector some people will develop intermittent puffiness that is likely related to fluid...

The two areas that stand out are the upper cheek area and the lower face.
Starting with the upper cheek area one can see the beginning a malar crease and this is reflective of volume loss over the cheek bones. Injecting a filler into this region will address the malar crease and also soften the smile lines below.
In the lower facial region, there is some volume loss and the start of marionette lines. Filler here will soften these lines and produce a ...
