How to lower the eyebrow? Would Botox work?
Botox to lower eyebrows
Nov 8, 2019
Botox certainly can be used to soften the arc of the eyebrows for a more masculine look as a non-surgical alternative. To achieve a good result, the correct dose of the toxin has to be injected in the frontalis muscle. It will relax it and avoid temporarily its normal function which is lifting the brows. Find a well trained oculoplastic surgeon, plastic surgeon or dermatologist that has expertise in using…
Can Botox in the forehead and glabella effect the nose shape or cause heavy feeling in tip of nose?
Botox and nose posistion
Nov 8, 2019
Thanks for your question. Typically after receiving a Botox treatment for the first time, some patients will describe feeling some ‘heaviness” of the treated area for 1 or 2 weeks, especially the glabella and forehead which it might be interpreted as a change in the nose but this sensation will vanish after the botox lightens up. To change the position of the nose, specifically the tip, the base of the columella have to be injected.
Is it safe to get a massage a week after Botox injections for forehead lines?
Massage after a Botox injection
Jul 6, 2019
Typically, you should wait 24 hours before getting a massage on the area treated with Botox in order to avoid spreading the toxin beyond the area where it was intended. One week after the injection, it will be safe to lay down on your face and even get a facial massage.
Can I get Botox injections under my eyes?
Botox for under eye
Jul 6, 2019
Actually yes, Botox can be use in the under eye area to treat those fine lines. The dose must be low to avoid any lagophthalmos (inability to close the eyelids completely) in patients with eyelid laxity. It won´t remove all fine lines but will improve the overall appearance. There are many other complementary treatments for this area like PRP, microneedling, peelings and laser resurfacing, among others. Talk to your doctor and find out about the most …
Is it possible to get Botox to crows feet only?
Botox in crows feet only
Jul 6, 2019
Yes you can! Botox treatment can be tailored to the patient´s needs and goals and in my office I do as my patient requests. However, I always suggest my patients to get forehead, frown and crows feet area treated together, especially the first time, so they can really experience how balanced their face and facial expression can look.
Is it possible for the nose to grow as a side effect of fillers and laser treatments?
Nose size and fillers
Jun 26, 2019
Botox and fillers do not have the potential to make your nose grow. You may notice a change in the appearance of your nose if you have lost weight. It could also be a change in the perception of how the nose looks in relation to other facial structures that have been modified. In general, the nose as well as the ears can grow as we age, but typically it is not noticeable in 2 years and occurs in older people. Finally, there is a particular type of rosacea, which can…
Correct gummy smile and deep horizontal crease above upper lip. Surgery or Botox?
Gummy smile.
Jun 26, 2019
Yes, Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and Juveo are all neurotoxins that can be used to treat successfully gummy smiles. If this was your first treatment, it is possible that your injector tried a low dose to evaluate how much your upper lip would drop. Also, with low doses the results tend to last less and ultimately, every person metabolizes differently each substance that enters their body. I would recommend you to go back to your…
Can you advise on a mole on side of my face that is getting pretty big?
Is this mole changing its appearance?
Jun 26, 2019
It is important to monitor the lesions on our skin. Even if we were born with them or they appeared later in life. In your case, according to the photo you submitted , it looks like a seborrheic keratosis, which is a benign lesion that can be removed for aesthetic purposes. However, it is necessary to pay attention to the following changes: accelerated growth, discoloration, presence of small blood vessels growing around, frequent desquamation, bleeding, tenderness, or…
Do I really need 20 units at 25 years old?
20 Units at 25yo
Mar 13, 2019
For any treatment on your face, I suggest selecting a core specialist like a plastic surgeon, facial plastic, oculoplastic or dermatologist. The age to start using Botox is relative, it depends on the very unique features of the facial muscles and skin of every patient. However, 20 units seems like a fair amount to start treating the forehead and soften the glabella area. This is sometimes called “Baby Botox” and aims for more of a preventive purpose. Just to treat the for…
Can Botox in the forehead lift brows? Does anyone use this technique?
Botox brow lift
Feb 10, 2019
To achieve an effective lift of the brows it is necessary to address the muscles that act to depress the eyebrows, the orbicularis oculi and the corrugator-procerus complex. By treating just the frontalis muscle, which elevates the eyebrows, the lifting is not achieved. However, if all the muscles mentioned above are treated carefully, a nice mild lifting effect can be noticed.
