Statement: Dr. F. Victor Rueckl has been a leading board-certified dermatologist and skin cancer surgeon for nearly four decades. The founder of Lakes Dermatology and The Spa at Lakes Dermatology in Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Rueckl offers advanced dermatology procedures, including Mohs surgery, IPL photofacials, Kybella, Fractora, PicoWay Resolve laser skin rejuvenation, Botox, and dermal fillers like Juvéderm Voluma.

Dr. Rueckl entered aesthetic medicine in the 1980s, as collagen first appeared on the market and the benefits of CO2 lasers for treating medical patients and cancers became known. Since then, his expertise has grown alongside continuous innovations in aesthetic medicine.

Dr. Rueckl started medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno before transferring to Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, where he obtained his degree. After graduation, Dr. Rueckl moved to Santa Barbara, California, where he completed an internship in internal medicine. He went on to complete a dermatology residency at Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, Rhode Island and a fellowship in Mohs surgery at University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine.

A native Nevadan, Dr. Rueckl moved back to his hometown of Reno and opened a private dermatology practice, where he also offered Mohs surgery for skin cancer treatment. In 1996, he moved to Bakersfield, California, to run Kaiser Permanente’s dermatology department.

A few years later, he decided to return to private practice and open his acclaimed Lakes Dermatology in Las Vegas. His practice is a Candela Center of Excellence for lasers and has the only SkinCeuticals flagship office in Nevada.

Throughout his career, Dr. Rueckl has continued to attend educational sessions each year, staying abreast of the latest innovations in cosmetic dermatology so he can offer them to his patients. Recently, he became an Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) Faculty Member. An Allergan Top 250 injector, he is also a national trainer for various injectables and laser manufacturers.

Hylenex can be used to remove the filler. I personally tell patients NOT to massage filler on their own, as they often make things much, much worse and move the filler around to unwanted places. Most often, people need 1-3 treatments of hyaluronidase to remove fillers - for non-arterial issues. That's a general range for a "normal" amount of two syringes or so. To see if you "still have fillers" you should consult your pre photos. That would be the best way to determine it. Fillers are generally soft so unless you can feel them under the skin, you won't necessarily know they are there. As far as the dent, that appears to be general volume loss in the face. I don't see filler there....

Well Fractora RF is just what it sounds like - fractionated radio frequency. It has zero ability to treat broken capillaries and age spots and has zero color to it. A fractional 1540 laser is a laser that's fractionated. It (along with photo facials) treat discoloration in the skin. Both are non-ablative or semi-ablative. ACV is basically a burn to the skin in the form of a sugar acid. (And very dangerous by the way.) Since technically any part of the skin will burn with ACV, turn black or dark, and then burn off the top, it could very well be a basal cell carcinoma or other type of skin cancer (which will have underlying roots). The only way to know will be to see a dermatologist and have it checked professionally. And please don't use ACV as a treatment on anything. It's just not smart and I've dealt with...

In all honesty, it depends on the depth of the melasma. Sometimes we use the Resolve handpiece, and sometimes the Zoom. Both are effective depending upon where the depth of the melasma lies.
