TooManyTimTams,In a lower blepharoplasty fat repositioning procedure that orbital fat pad is isolated and repositioned into a place in which it decreases the appearance of your tear trough.  Filling the volume loss in this region smooth transition between your cheek and eyelid junction.  The repositioned fat will then heal into the area in which it is placed, there isn't a ligament involved or a fusion plane.  Hope this helps.
