Is there a lot of pain associated with the fractora procedure?
Fractora Pain Is Minimal
May 26, 2016
I understand your concern here. Fractora does wonders for skin rejuvenation but is it worth it? In my mind, yes. I always offer patients a pain pill before the procedure as well as nerve blocks (especially around the lips). Typically though, application of strong topical numbing cream for 40-45 minutes is adequate for pain control. If you’re too uncomfortable, we work with you to make it an easy procedure.
Infini vs. Fractora? Which one delivers better results for facial area?
Infini Versus Fractora
May 26, 2016
Full disclosure here – I own a Fractora and not an Infini. Fractora does have more hand piece options which may make it easier for your doctor to customize the treatment for your skin. I agree with Dr. Novick that microneedling is great on thin, crepey skin. The radiofrequency side of it doesn’t add a ton for superficial lines but does really well with deeper lines. Adding in a dermal filler would likely help a lot. Hope that helps!
What treatments would best help with tear troughs, smile lines, pigmentation & dark circles under
Treating Tear Troughs and Smile Lines
May 26, 2016
I agree with Dr. Baird that it’s well-worth it for you to get an in-person consultation. All of the technologies that you mention are great, but dermal fillers would be a better choice for you. Even a small amount of Belotero would help with the tear trough and in so doing the shadowing under the eyes will improve. For the color change, I’d start with a sunscreen, retinoid, and hydroquinone product. After that, an IPL might be a nice option.
I’m African American with medium dark skin who recently had Fractora TX. Is this a permanent condi
Done Right, Fractora Shouldn’t Cause Pigmentation
May 26, 2016
I’m sorry to hear that you’re dealing with hyperpigmentation, and hope that is has since resolved. I can’t help but wonder what tips were used during your procedure. Using the deep, coated Fractora tips, I’ve never encountered hyperpigmentation. If the smaller, superficial tips were used, it is a known risk. Getting rid of hyperpigmentation is a slow process but it will continue to improve.
I had Fractora procedure on the neck 3 days ago, it is still very swollen Edema. Any suggestions?
Swelling After Fractora Is Common
May 26, 2016
I’m guessing by now your edema has resolved? Typically it clears within a few days to a week. It is a common side effect, but usually not too bothersome.
Could You Tell Me the Difference Between Fractora Skin Resurfacing and Fraxel Laser?
Fractora Versus Fraxel
May 26, 2016
Great question. These are both great technologies. Please make sure that the Fraxel Re:pair (for deeper tightening) and the Fraxel 1927 (for the more superficial lines). Given your age and the location, I’m betting most of the lines are fairly superficial. Personally, I do think the Fractora does more for wrinkles. Fraxel requires at least 4 (and frequently up to 6) treatments. With Fractora, I almost always see a big difference with 2 treatments. In fact, even after 1 treatment, I’ve never…
I am interested in getting Fractora Firm. How long should you wait after recent fillers?
Wait on Fractora After Fillers
May 26, 2016
Thanks for your question, Mona. Fractora is an awesome procedure but we don’t recommend having it over top of mid-superficial dermal fillers. These include Belotero, Restylane, Restylane Silk, Juvederm Ultra, and others. Voluma or Sculptra should be okay if they were placed deep enough. I’d recommend going back to the provider who did your injection and talk to a doc about Fractora. Usually we just have folks wait 4 months but if you were in a hurry, most of the fillers can be dissolved first.
