Can I have IPR done on my lower black triangles?
Black Triangle Begone
May 3, 2022
Yes, IPRs is a great procedure option to reduce your black triangle between your teeth. I do not recommend compositor bonding to attempt to close the black triangle as the composite may not be shaped or polished correctly and in turn will cause gum inflammation (puffy and bloody gums). Another treatment option is veneers to reduce or eliminate black triangle.
What is wrong with my crowns and veneers? I feel like they look like dentures
Smile Design
May 3, 2022
Hello! So unfortunate to read your situation especially you had to go through it 3 times! Your result simply comes down to your dentist’s knowledge on prep design and smile design and a ceramist that also knows smile design. When you have these redone for the 4th time, need to find the correct cosmetic dentist! Your teeth can’t handle being drilled on over and over. Best of luck.
Can three-unit cemented bridge be removed safely?
Can be redone
May 3, 2022
Yes, a dentist can remove your existing 3-unit bridge without hurting or damaging your teeth structure underneath. You just need to find the right and new person to do the redo. Best of luck.
I have crowded teeth and for straightening them I have to get 4 teeth extracted. So can I get veneers a
Need Invisalign First
Apr 30, 2021
After your extractions, you’ll need Invisalign first THEN you can get veneers. Veneers alone after your extractions will NOT straighten your teeth. Also a lot of your teeth structure will be ground down and away if you allow any dentist to do veneers on your teeth without Invisalign.
Advice please on veneers on an overbite/ overjet
Overjet
Apr 30, 2021
With your overjet (top front teeth so much further out than you bottom fromt teeth) AND with top teeth crowding, veneers are NOT a good option foe you to get straight and white teeth. You will need to get your teeth straighter and your bite better with Invisalign first THEN you can get veneers to make your teeth brighter.
Can Invisalign or some other method fix my severely crowded teeth?
Yes!
Apr 29, 2021
There are many ways to address and treat certain clinical condition. You need to consult with couple of Invisalign providers in your local area and see what they say. I treat cases like your condition all the time without removing that one tooth. Invisalign can absolutely straighten your teeth without removing that one tooth. However, EVERY doctor has different levels of comfortability, confidence, and treatment philosophy. Just because I say no tooth pull, doesn’t mean your local I...
Is the transparency on my teeth a sign of enamel erosion?
Normal
Feb 3, 2021
The translucency characteristics in your teeth are absolutely normal and a lot of cases preferred in cosmetic dentistry. As you age, these translucent area may become more obvious, but no harm to your teeth structure. Now if you see a crack then you'll need to see your dentist ASAP.
Can veneers close a 1.9-2mm space between canine and premolar?
Yes, but it won't be pretty
May 25, 2020
First, your 1.9 mm space is between your lateral incisor and your canine. Yes, a dentist can close that space with veneers or crowns, but that will make your lateral incisor and/or canine too wide of a look. Even if you split the difference between the two teeth, they will still look unnatural. I would suggest to have your Invisalign provider close that 1.9 mm space and relocate that 1.9 mm space into multiple little spaces spread between your back teeth...
Can my uneven smile be fixed?
Two Areas of Concer
May 25, 2020
One, your right upper lip pulls up higher very so slightly so you definitely show more gums on the right side when you smile. Two, you're experiencing what we called in cosmetic dentistry as a "BUCCAL CORRIDOR" effect in smile design. Buccal corridor effect means that your premolars appears to be missing or darker in your smile when you smile because they are sunken in towards the palate more. To create that perfect wider, more teeth show all the way...
Age 65, want to improve my smile. What would you suggest?
Veneers For the Win
May 25, 2020
Thank you for sharing your concerns and questions. Also, thank you for sharing your age as an age isn't a concern for a beautiful smile. Here's what I see, you have naturally larger two front teeth and they are also crooked which really made them jump out or "center of attention". More braces or ortho will not correct or address your concerns. You'll need veneers. Again, due to the natural larger size of your two front teeth, they will need to be ground down or...
Front teeth too big and overjet after getting braces off. What can be done to make my front teeth less
It's All An Illustion
May 25, 2020
Dear Ben: Thank you for sharing your concerns and questions. Your two front teeth are actually within the normal width-to-length ratio of what two front teeth are supposed to be according to a smile design perimeters. I actually like the size and shape of your two front teeth. What you're experiencing is an "illusion" that your two front teeth are too wide because it is your two lateral incisors are too skinny or narrow (they even have a bit of...

You Have Options
May 25, 2020
Thank you for sharing your questions and concerns. You have many options to address your concerns and achieve your smile goals. Invisalign to move your teeth to reduce the gapping and your long front teeth look. After Invisalign treatment, with veneers you can completely close those gaps. If you don't have to do Invisalign, then you can alway choose to have just veneers or crowns placed to close the gaps and correct the long front teeth look, but be warned...
Something off about my smile. What can I do about it?
Veneers
May 25, 2020
Because how your teeth are all now "tilted inward" slightly, you're a perfect candidate for cosmetic veneers with "no prep" or "minimal prep" technique. WIth veneers across all of your top teeth, you'll have your "very visible" smile like Marilyn Monroe or Ava Gardener. Find the right smile artist to create that for you. Best of luck!
Smile makeover advice? Will it have to be done with braces first or is there another option?
You Don't Need Braces
May 25, 2020
You will not need braces to correct or eliminate those gaps and dark "triangles" between the teeth caused by gum tissue recession from gum disease. Instead, you're a great candidate for cosmetic veneers and/or crowns to close up those gaps and "black triangles" for a beautiful smile makeover. Consult with your local AACD Accredited dentist for the best results. Good luck.
I have a crooked smile. What can I do to fix it?
Multiple Areas of Concern
May 25, 2020
You have two areas of concern. One, your teeth are crowded and two, one side of your lower lip pulls down further when you smile. To straighten your teeth, that's the easy part. We can do it with Invisalign, veneers, and/or crowns. Expensive, but straight forward. Correcting you lower lip smiling asymmetry will be the most challenging part. Unfortunately, there isn't a permanent solution, but there is a temporary solution, botulinum toxin (i.e....
