Generally, the Botox in injected into the muscle and the effects stay locally. If it is injected into an artery or vein, it could get into the blood stream. I am not aware of any post-treatment CNS problems. However, I advise you to only get injections from a trained medical provider to assure injections are being placed correctly.

The outside area can feel like a sunburn after the treatment. It can take 5-7 days to heal in some patients. I have had some patients that resumed intercourse or heavy physical activities a little too soon, especially if the outer genitalia was treated, and developed a little ulcer. I advise you to follow up with your provider for an examination.

Sounds like you may have some purpura which can be a desired result or treatment endpoint if you received PDL. IPL does not usually result in the lesions you are describing. The purpura form as a result of the blood vessel destruction and will resolve spontaneously with some time. If you are worried, follow up with your provider for a repeat evaluation.

Good news is it shouldn’t get any worse and is not permanent. The Botox effects will resolve in 3-4 months. Next time you have Botox injections, be sure you notify your injector of the results you be had in the past. Unfortunately, these are some of the undesirable side effects of Botox.

Lichen planus can affect the vagina. However, menopause causes many changes to the vagina that result in dryness and painful intercourse. I would recommend you see your gynecologist for a thorough exam. If there are any suspicious lesions, a biopsy can confirm the diagnosis. MonaLisa Touch is helpful for lichen sclerosis and dryness from menopause. Lichen planus is generally treated and controlled with topical steroids.

It is optimal not to peel off the sloughing skin. It will increase your chance for scarring and bleeding. It may take a little longer for your skin to heal in this case. Keep it moist. I like Aquaphor. You can also use the post-peel cream that may have come with the kit, but often it stings. The Aquaphor should not. Definitely avoid the sun, hot water, and abrasive substances.

Yes, you can most definitely still have lip injections despite having broken blood vessels on your lips. If they bother you, look into having a consultation with a medical office that has the Cutera Excel V. I have worked with it In the past and have successfully treated vessels on the lips.
