Passionate about clinical research, Dr. Lamel has led numerous studies and been published more than 20 times in peer-reviewed dermatology textbooks and journals. She is a fellow of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatological Surgery, and is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

Dr. Lamel was presented with the Golden Triangle Award by the American Academy of Dermatology for her exceptional work in community outreach and raising awareness of the dangers of skin cancer as a doctor and melanoma survivor.

It’s absolutely fine and sometimes best to do very small amounts of filler, depending on the natural size and shape of your lips. A skilled injector will always be trying to make you look natural and happy!

You could easily achieve better symmetry and obtain more volume on your upper lip with placement of a hyaluronic acid filler placed by a skilled injector. This could also help raise the corners of your mouth. Hope this helps!

If you developed the wrinkle after you had hyaluronic acid fillers dissolved, I would first try injected of a small amount of neuromodulator to see if that will improve it. If not, then I would inject a small amount of a soft hyaluronic acid filler to improve the appearance. Hope this helps!

Looking at your photos, it looks like hyaluronic acid filler placed in the lateral edges of the lower lip would help you achieve the look you are going for. There is also an injection technique that can be done from the lateral edge of the upper lip threaded in a superior-lateral angle that helps up turn the lip. Hope this helps!

You look likely you could benefit from small amounts of neuromodulator into the muscle responsible for downturning the lip. Hyaluronic acid fillers could also be used strategically in the lateral part of the upper lip to help as well.
