Emsculpt takes time to see results
Jun 30, 2019
With Emsculpt it usually takes 2-4 months to see the full effect of treatments.  You will see results from the muscle building occur very quickly, usually during the first month, and the muscles become more defined each day as fat is broken down.  Most of the results can be seen within 6-8 weeks.  However, it can take as long as 4 more months for the fat to be broken down, which is similar to other bodysculpting treatments like Coolsculpting.

Emsculpt results for buttocks and glutes
Jun 30, 2019
Thanks for your question.  Emsculpt for the buttocks using protocol 2 will firm, tighten, and lift the buttocks for a more rounded appearance.  Some people see before and afters showing very full buttocks created by Emsculpt.  However, not everyone will get such a boost in volume.  If a patient already does not have a certain degree of fullness to the buttocks already, Emsculpt cannot create full buttocks from flatter buttocks.  If there is alot of fat in the buttocks and you are look...

Sculptra for temples
Jun 30, 2019
Sculptra is an excellent treatment for the temples.  You will typically see very nice temporary results for 1-2 weeks after each treatment session, which subsides and rebuilds through collagen stimulation.  Sculptra does take time to build up, but you are right in that it is very long lasting (2+ years).  Hyaluronic acid fillers work well in this area as well, and give immediate results.  Voluma can last 1-2 years.  It really depends on how immediate you are looking to get results.

Frown lines after Botox
Jun 30, 2019
Everyone's muscle strength is different, and some people will need more Botox, and some less.  It really depends on the strength of your muscles at baseline.  Most people will require 20 units of Botox as a good starting point, although some require even more than that!  So it is likely that you just need more units of Botox if there is still residual movement that bothers you.
Is Ultherapy compatible with Botox and fillers?
Ultherapy with fillers and Botox
Jun 30, 2019
Ultherapy works well in combination with injectables like fillers and Botox.  In fact, we use Ultherapy quite commonly in combination with Sculptra.  Ultherapy lifts and tightens the skin through renewal of collagen throughout different layers of the skin.  Fillers can be injected deep over the bone or within the dermis.  It is actually unknown whether Ultherapy treatments affect fillers in the skin, although they are processed at much higher temperatures during the manufacturing proc...
Is there a difference between how deep voluma vs. Radiesse is injected in the temples?
Radiesse versus Voluma depth of injection for temples
Jun 30, 2019
Both Radiesse and Voluma are very similar in the way they are injected.  They are usually injected deep over the bone, and work almost like temporary implants.  Sometimes they can also be injected under the dermis as well.  In the temples, many physicians prefer Voluma and hyaluronic acid fillers, as they can be reversed should any complications arise.
Does microneedling/PRP plump the face or does it just build collagen that works on the
Results from PRP microneedling
Jun 30, 2019
PRP microneedling results in very good improvements in skin texture, fine lines, and scar remodeling through stimulation of collagen renewal.  We see very good response in acne scars as well.  PRP microneedling does not plump the skin in a meaningful way, so there are definitely other treatments that do a better job of adding volume to the skin.
Do I need more filler in my lips to correct the unevenness?
post-Juvederm lip filler unevenness
Jun 30, 2019
If you are concerned about asymmetry, then your provider should be able to assess the issue and recommend a plan of action.  Besides correcting with filler, your provider can also inject hyaluronidase in an area that may be too full.  Sometimes vigorous massage of a full or lumpy area may also redistribute the filler more evenly.  I would discourage you from doing this on your own and visit your provider.
How to get rid of redness, pigmentation, and dry dull skin?
Treatments for red, dull, pigmented skin
Jun 30, 2019
Thanks for posting your question and photos.  To get an accurate assessment of your skin, seeing a board-certified dermatologist would be the first starting point.  There could be some rosacea and melasma at work here, in which case you would want a good regimen of prescription medications.  Skin treatments, devices, and skin care products do have a role as well.  We use IPL and Pulsed-dye lasers for redness.  For melasma, our preference is chemical peels, and the Clear and Brilliant laser.
What is the best treatment for stomach fat and inner thighs?
Abdominal and thigh fat treatments
Jun 30, 2019
While an in-person consult is ideal to provide an accurate assessment, your photos appear to show a moderate amount of subcutaneous fat, which should respond quite nicely to Coolsculpting.  If you are considering non-invasive and non-surgical treatments, then there are multiple ways to achieve a good result.  Best results would be a combination of modalities.  We currently combine Coolsculpting with Emsculpt and Exilis Ultra radiofrequency treatments, which allows us to treat these ar...
CoolSculpting on 'Man Boobs' - Would the procedure cause a problem with a Coronary Sten
Coolsculpting in the setting of Coronary stents
Jun 30, 2019
Since Coolsculpting only treats the fat, any coronary artery stents would not be affected by the procedure.  For the breasts, Coolsculpting will help reduce fat, but it will not reduce gladular breast tissue.
When one is affected with PAH post CoolSculpting, is it obvious?
Appearance of Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia
Jun 30, 2019
Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia or PAH is a rare side effect from Coolsculpting.  The actual incidence is not really known, but it is uncommon or rare.  Our clinic has seen a handful of cases over 8 years of providing Coolsculpting treatments, and liposuction is the only way to get rid of PAH.  PAH is typically quite definitive in appearance.  It is firm, rubbery, thick, and there is heaviness to it that is different from the surrounding tissue.  If your current provider is not famili...
What happens if I do CoolSculpting and then treat over part of the area with Kybella?
Kybella after Coolsculpting
Jun 30, 2019
We use Kybella after Coolsculpting quite frequently under the chin, although we usually wait to see results from the Coolsculpting and touch up with the Kybella.  Kybella in the abdominal area is off-label, although it is being used more frequently there.  Having Kybella injected 1 week after Coolsculpting won't affect the results in a negative way.  It should only boost the results of the Coolsculpting.
Botox caused deep wrinkle to appear above eyebrow after about a week. Will it ever go a
New crease appearing after Botox
May 30, 2019
When you see a crease after Botox, its usually one of two causes:1.  The line was already there but became more apparent once Botox smoothed out the surrounding skin.  You can look at a photograph before the treatment to see if the line was present before.  If such a line is present at rest, then you may need fillers to lighten it up.2.  There is activity in a muscle that was not blocked by the Botox.  In this case, if the central forehead is blocked, but there is residual activity abov...
Can only manage one EmSculpt session a week for 4 weeks. Is this possible/advisable?
Emsculpt performed once a week
May 30, 2019
All that is known for sure is that treatments performed with a 2-3
day break in clinical trials yielded good results.  However,
anecdotally, there are clinics that are performing treatments once a
week over 4 weeks, and are able to purportedly achieve equally good
results.  Only time and experience in the medical community will tell
how well "non-optimal" treatment schedules will work, but 20,000 contractions once a week should still yield good results.
