Answer Snippet
Nd Yag Laser for Broken Capillaries – Potential Scarring, Very Concerned?
Blister after YAG treatment
Sep 5, 2018
Thank you for your question. I would encourage you to contact the physician who performed the treatment. You can apply some antibacterial or moisturizing ointment to areas that have minor crusting or scabbing. Be sure not to pick at the blister. This should heal without scarring but make sure you are evaluated.
What Can Be Done About Recent Scars Caused by Blistering from Yag Laser Treatment?
Scars caused by YAG laser.
Sep 5, 2018
Thank you for your question. Before doing anything to “fix” a scar, give it some time to heal. This area tends to heal very well on it’s own. Make sure that you avoid direct sunlight to allow the redness to fade. In our practice we encourage surgical patients to use Biocornium, which is a silicone ointment on their scars twice a day. After about 4-6 months you can reevaluate with your dermatologist and determine if anything needs to be done.
Normal To Get Brown Spots on Face After Yag Laser? How Do I Get Rid of Them?
Brown Spots on Face After YAG.
Sep 5, 2018
Thank you for your picture and your questions. Minor crusting or scabbing of the treated areas are normal after a YAG treatment. As the skin heals, in 7-14 days, the spots will slough off. Do not rub or pick at the scabs. You can apply an antibacterial or moisturizing ointment and wash your face with a gentle soap, using your fingertips. If you have concerns and questions, be sure to contact the person who did your treatment.
Dark Spots After Yag Laser Treatment
Dark spots after a YAG treatment.
Sep 5, 2018
Thank you for your question. You did not mention how long ago you had the YAG treatment. You can expect pigmented lesions to turn gray or dark after treatment. As the skin heals, in 7-14 days, the spot will slough off. Be sure to not pick or rub at the lesions. If the dark spots have been there longer than a month, you may have some hyperpigmentation. You can treat these with 4% hydroquinone and a Retin-A. I hope that answer helps.
Post-op Care for Yag Laser
YAG Post-Treatment Care
Sep 5, 2018
The area treated with YAG may be red afterwards. This will generally fade within 24-48 hours. The treated area can be washed normally with mild soap and water. Wash the area gently with your fingertips. I would avoid using a washcloth or other abrasive methods to clean your face. After washing with your fingertips with a gentle soap, apply an antibacterial ointment. You can expect minor crusting or scabbing of the treated areas. Do not rub or pick at…
How Much Does IPL Cost?
Cost of IPL
Aug 29, 2018
This is a difficult question to answer because there are a number of different areas the IPL can treat (each having their own cost) and how many treatments patients need vary as well. Our treatment for the face starts at $300, neck and chest $350, and hands $250 for a single treatment. Most patients need between 3-5 treatments, spaced around 3 weeks apart. I hope this answer helps.
After IPL how long does hyperpigmentation last?
How long to expect hyperpigmentation after IPL
Aug 29, 2018
Thank you for your question. Usually treated brown spots darken after treatment, and begins flaking within a few days. This flaking usually resolves in 1-3 weeks. It should be allowed to naturally flake off for better results. The recommended time interval between treatments is 3 weeks. Most patients require a series of 3-5 treatments depending on the amount of hyperpigmentation being treated. Hope that answer helps.
