Dallas Botox Prices And Pictures
The action of Botox is based on muscle relaxation. How to use it to achieve the effect of “lifting”, lifting the tissues of the face? The fact is that almost every muscle has a muscle-antagonist, performing opposite functions. If the muscle-biceps performs bending of the hand, then the triceps is responsible for its extension.
On the face there are similar pairs of muscle-antagonists. A physician who knows the anatomy of a person well and who can see the individual features of his structure can create amazing effects. For example, if after the introduction of Botox into the muscles responsible for lowering the eyebrows down, the muscles responsible for lifting the eyebrows are activated, varying the dose and place of administration of the drug, one can achieve the effect of “upshot” of the entire eyebrow or part of it.
Similarly, a change in the incision of the eyes is achieved, the “opening of the eye” effect.
Thus, the use of Botox makes it possible to simultaneously achieve two effects:
- smoothing of facial wrinkles;
- lifting of facial tissues.
When the result will be visible?
On average, facial muscles relax for 5-7 days. The maximum effect, as a rule, is achieved in two weeks.
But there are variations due to the individual characteristics of the body, when botulinum toxin begins to act on the second day, and in some cases it takes a month.
There are people who are insensitive to botulinum toxin. Such immunity is rare, less than 1% of people. It can occur in people who have previously undergone botulism or who have been treated with large doses of Botox for medical reasons.
Effect duration
After the first procedure, facial wrinkles are smoothed on average for 4-6 months. Then the neuromuscular bonds blocked by Botox are restored, the muscle fibers begin to contract again, and wrinkles also return.
Therefore, to maintain a permanent absence of wrinkles, it is necessary to re-introduce it about six months later.
As a rule, after 3-5 sessions, the duration of the absence of wrinkles increases to 10-12 months.
After the termination of Botox, the motor activity of the facial muscles is restored. But during the time when the muscles were artificially relaxed, a person is weaned from the habit of constantly frowning his forehead or screwing up his eyes. Therefore, wrinkles, the occurrence of which is due to these habits, may not return. Even if not to repeat the introduction of Botox.
Limitation
To “normal” life you can return immediately after the procedure (therefore, injections of Botox are often referred to as “cosmetology lunch break”). But after the administration of botulinum toxin for several hours, its distribution occurs in the tissues. More than a day is required for complete healing after injections. In order for these processes to pass in the optimal mode, certain restrictions must be observed:
- do not go to bed or lie for 3-4 hours;
- it is necessary to refrain from taking medications that affect blood coagulability, alcohol consumption – 1 day;
- Do not touch the skin areas where the injections were performed – 2 days;
- Do not tilt your head down for a long time: for example, wash floors – 2 days;
- do not exercise, fitness – 2 days;
- exclude overheating: do not go to the bath, sauna, do not sunbathe, do not direct hot air from the dryer to your face for 10 days.
What is the best age for Botox therapy?
The severity of the result achieved after Botox application depends not only on individual characteristics, but also on age:
- up to 25 years of age – most people do not yet have Botox indications: the skin is elastic enough and facial wrinkles do not pose a serious problem;
- 30-40 years of age – in most people the facial wrinkles are already quite noticeable and the maximum effect can be expected from Botox application;
- 50-60 years of age – the tone of the muscle fibers is already weakening, the result of using Botox is less pronounced than at a younger age;
- after 60 years of age – mimic muscles largely lose their tone, its role in the formation of wrinkles is low, respectively, and the scope of Botox is very limited.
As with the prescription of any medicine, there are contra-indications to the use of Botox and Disport:
Inflammatory process at the site of the intended introduction. Carrying out any injections is possible only on healthy skin.
If there are pustular elements, acne or other inflammatory elements in the area of putative injections, injections can promote the spread of infection, enhance inflammation.
Plastic or other surgery on the face. After the operation, the tissues of the face take their final form gradually. Their correction by Botox is expedient not earlier than 3 months after the operation.
Expressed gravitational ptosis of facial tissues and expressed hernia in the upper and lower eyelids. These phenomena are primarily due to weakness in the muscles of the face. The introduction of Botox into such weakened muscles can exacerbate existing problems.
The acute phase of infectious diseases, elevated body temperature. During this period, any cosmetic procedures are not recommended.
High degree of myopia (more than 6 diopters). If myopia is caused by the weakening of the eye muscles, theoretically, the administration of botulinum toxin to nearby areas can further weaken them. Myasthenic, myasthenic-like syndromes, Lambert-Eaton syndrome. If there is an effect of the addition of relaxation of the facial muscle caused by the introduction of Botox and its weakening caused by the disease – the cosmetic result will be unsatisfactory.
Hypersensitivity (allergy) to the components of the drug. In addition to botulinum toxin, Botox contains albumin – albumin. If you have previously experienced allergic reactions to albumin, inform your doctor about this before proceeding.
Pregnancy and lactation. Since clinical trials on pregnant and lactating women are prohibited in all countries, Botox’s safety data are only confirmed for women outside the period of pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Pregnancy is a state of the female body in which any interference with its functioning should be carried out only if necessary. Correction of wrinkles is not necessary.
Reception of antibiotics less than 2 weeks before the procedure. It is important to take antibiotics of the following groups: aminoglycosides (eg, gentamicin), macrolides (eg, erythromycin), tetracyclines (eg, doxycycline), polymyxins. These antibiotics enhance the action of botulinum toxin, which makes it difficult to correctly dosage and makes the result difficult to predict.
Before the procedure, be sure to inform the doctor about all the medications that you are taking. It may be important to take drugs that increase the intracellular concentration of calcium, benzodiazepines, anticoagulants, antiaggregants.
Botox cosmetics
Recently, creams with “botox effect” have appeared, which, with regular and long-term use, are really able to reduce the severity of small “mesh” facial wrinkles.
Possible complications
After the procedure, there may be a slight puffiness at the jab sites and pinpoint hemorrhages may persist for several days. They disappear on their own and do not require treatment. Sometimes there is a “hypercorrection”, when overdosing the drug, because of non-compliance with the restrictions that must be observed after botulinum therapy or due to increased individual sensitivity, muscles relax more than planned. There is “ptosis of tissues”, “mask-shaped face” or its asymmetry.
