Cost Of Botox For Forehead Lines
The total cost of Botox for treating a patients forehead lines will be different from patient to patient.
Some patients will require more Botox than others depending on how deep the lines are and how strong the patients facial muscles are.
I suggest discussing how many units you will need with the healthcare provider injecting you.
This will give you a better estimate of how much your total cost will be. (Peter J. Capizzi, MD, Charlotte Plastic Surgeon)
This depends on a few things. Mainly your age, the strength of your frontalis muscle and whether or not you want your glabellar (mid area between brows treated). The number of units can range from 15-40 units really.
We charge 15$/unit. I have an office in millennium park in Chicago. That is a fair rate for our area. I do all of my own injecting. If it is going to have my name on it I prefer to do it myself.
For people with really deep forehead lines I often talk about fat transfer as this can make a huge difference. We even taper the fat into the forehead which is a place many surgeons miss.
The scalp also has fat that is lost with age. (Benjamin Caughlin, MD, Chicago Facial Plastic Surgeon)
The Cost of Botox For Forehead Lines
Cost depends on:
- Level of expertise of injector (docs cost more, other injectors cost less)
- Area of treatment
- Number of units used
- Cost per unit For the forehead, it depends on whether you are treating the horizontal lines, the vertical frown lines “11’s”, or both.
Typically, I use 20 to 25 units for the frown line and 10 to 20 units for the horizontal lines. Basic cost ranges from $10 to $18 per unit. We charge $15. However, we run specials and host events that reduce the cost as much as $5 per unit. (Jennifer Reichel, MD, Seattle Dermatologist)
Botox used in the forehead can vary widely when priced by unit or region. Some practices charge by unit alone and depending on your needs may require quite a bit for 11 lines and forehead lines.
Other practices charge you both the 11 lines and forehead separately. There is a delicate balance when using these products in this area as to not make your forehead too droopy where you feel tired or have heavy eyes all the time and get an adequate lift.
Be sure to ask about follow up if the outside of your eyebrows elevate or you look like ‘Spock’ to assure the best result possible. (Sean Paul, MD, Austin Oculoplastic Surgeon)
Botox price
There are many factors affecting the amount of units needed to obtain full correction with botox including size of the area being treated, strength of muscle, depth of wrinkle, number of wrinkles, etc. A forehead may require anywhere from 6-14 units, possibly more for a male patient or someone who has multiple forehead lines.
Your best option is to visit an experienced injector who can assess your specific needs. (Marc J. Salzman, MD, FACS, Louisville Plastic Surgeon)
Botox for Forehead Wrinkles
In the SF Bay Area, the price for Botox ranges from $12 to $20 per unit. The cost would be dependent on the total number of units used in your treatment. Each patient is different, but the average forehead treatment is around 10 to 15 units for horizontal forehead lines.
If you add in the area between the eyebrows (glabella, or frown lines), that would be another 20 units or so. (Evan Ransom, MD, FACS, Bay Area Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Botox pricing
Pricing will vary for every patient if your doctor is charging by the unit. As for a typical forehead it will take anywhere from 10-30 units to treat the dynamic forehead depending on the size , muscle strength, and contouring desired.
Less is more with these products so that you can always add more as a touch up if needed especially if you are being charged by the unit. (Shawn Allen, MD, Boulder Dermatologist)
Botox price for the forehead
Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. It is important to be specific when discussing a person’s concerns. This is because the forehead contains two muscle groups: one is associated with horizontal lines seen on the upper forehead when one raises the brows and the other is associated with vertical lines seen between the brows when one frowns.
The amount used depends on the person and her individual concerns. Typical doses for the entire forehead area (both muscle groups) range from 10 to 50 units, which would equate to $100 to $500 at a $10 per unit rate.
Men generally require higher doses than women. It is more important to look for a good provider than for the best price.
Look for experience, before and after photographs, and testimonials. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. (Alex Eshaghian, MD, PhD, Encino Physician)
Many doctors charge by the unit. It will depend on how many wrinkles you have on your forehead and whether or not you also want to get rid of the lines between your brows. The number of units can range from 10-30 units.
You are best to consult with your provider about how much you will need. (Jean Keamy, MD, Westborough Ophthalmologist)
Botox Cost for the Forehead.
I typically use 8-12 units for the horizontal lines of the forehead. The dose depends on the size of the muscles, and the patients past experience. I charge $11 per unit. At that rate, the cost would be $88-$132.
At the $10 per unit price, the cost would be $80-$120. (Luke J. Curtsinger, MD, Savannah Plastic Surgeon)
Botox costs in the forehead
It will vary based on the depth of the lines in your forehead (and hence the number of units needed). Expect to pay between $200 to $400 for forehead alone. (Kris M. Reddy, MD, FACS, West Palm Beach Plastic Surgeon)
Botox for the forehead can be anywhere from 5 to 40+ units.
Properly trained, board-certified dermatologists and plastic surgeons separate the “forehead” area into the upper/main forehead, and the glabella, the area between the eyebrows that has the frown lines. Depending on your exact anatomy and types of lines and facial movement, you may need only 3 to 5 units total in the upper forehead area, or up to 40 units for the combined glabella and forehead together.
The effect of properly placed, and not overdone, Botox, can be excellent. (Jessica J. Krant, MD, MPH, New York Dermatologic Surgeon)
Forehead rejuvenation with BOTOX requires between 37.5 and 50 units.
To rejuvenate your forehead, you’ll need to have both your frown lines and your forehead lines injected to avoid a droopy brow. I start with 12.5 units to the muscles in between your eyebrows, and 25 units to the rest of the forehead.
I like to see all of my BOTOX patients around a week after the injection to assess the results, and a dose adjustment (usually 12.5 units) is given without further charge, if it’s needed. This 2 area treatment costs $550 in my NJ office. (Eric M. Joseph, MD, West Orange Facial Plastic Surgeon)
If the price per unit is 10$, the total price will depend on the amount of units you require. Botox is often used to treat smile lines (crow’s feet) and frown lines and expression lines on the forehead.
Your plastic surgeon will evaluate your muscle activity to determine how many units you require. If you require Botox for excess sweating (Hyperhydrosis) the amount of units is usually between 40 – 60 units per armpit. A consultation for evaluation is absolutely necessary to determine this amount. (Omar Fouda Neel, MD, FRCSC, FACS, Montreal Plastic Surgeon)
Botox for Forehead Varies and Can Range Between $200 and $250
It’s important to realize that it takes time for botox to work. In the vast majority of patients it takes 2 to 3 days to see a response to this type of treatment. This response becomes progressively stronger over the course of 5 to 7 days following injection.
Under these circumstances, it’s not unusual for vertical frown lines to remain unchanged for several days following the injection of botox. Botox is effective for treating dynamic frown lines which are related to muscle contractivity.
In cases where furrows are deep, botox may not totally correct the problem and treatment may need to be augmented with juvederm. (Richard J. Bruneteau, MD, Omaha Plastic Surgeon)
