Can You Order Botox Online?

Beware online “Botox”

Purchasing “Botox” online is dangerous. There is no guarantee that the product is truly botulinum toxin, and no reputable physician would inject a product brought into the office by a patient.

I would strongly encourage you to avoid online products and see a reputable aesthetic physician for botulinum toxin instead. (Chad L. Prather, MD, Baton Rouge Dermatologic Surgeon)

Please be careful-Don’t buy what could be fake “Botox” on the internet

Real authentic Botox when injected by an experienced injector is extremely safe. You have now way of knowing what you are getting over the Internet. In addition to being illegal it could be very dangerous, the concentration or number of units may not be appropriate.

Botox Can Only Be Purchased Through Allergan From A Medical Licensed Physician

in Florida several years ago there were some significant side effects when veterinary strength botulinum toxin was injected into humans. As well there may be issues with sterility, not to mention the technique of your injector.

I would not take a chance. (John E. Gross, MD, Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon)

At the end, use your common sense …

What used to be fishy basement deals are now openly offered via the world wide web. Regulatory limits are important but the misled and creative mind will always find a way around these rules. One can probably buy dental implants online and find homemakers who screw them into the jaw after watching a DIY video…

A procedure looks “easy” because the experienced physician has performed them hundreds of times before.

And we still respect the tiniest possibility for adverse reactions. I am convinced that we will hear many unfortunate news over the next years… Meanwhile, all the ethical practitioners amongst us will be under increased scrutiny. (Frank P. Fechner, MD, Worcester Facial Plastic Surgeon)

Botox Is A FDA Regulated Drug

Be wary of internet sales of Botox

Be wary of internet sales of Botox. The active ingredient in Botox is botulinum toxin A and there are only two products currently approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for human use.

One is made by the company Allergan and is marketed under the name of Botox and the other which has been recently approved is marketed by the company Medicis under the trade name of Dysport.

If you seek services at a any place, I would always ask to see the bottle the product came from as both have propietary labels which would be difficult to forge. (Scott Trimas, MD, Jacksonville Facial Plastic Surgeon)

Anoher company selling it to you is doing so illegally. (Steven Wallach, MD, New York Plastic Surgeon)

It is illegal, unsafe and unethical. You should definitely stay away from this internet/online discounted Botox. I hope the company that makes Botox, Allergan will look into it. (Tanveer Janjua, MD, Bedminster Facial Plastic Surgeon)

Botox online is not worth it

It was very interesting to go and run a search for this website! They even posted on you tube several videos on self-injection of fillers and Botox! Now, if there is any reason we have one of the best quality health care systems in the world is something called standard of care and safety! There is no reason in my mind to compromise safety or deviate from the standard of care to save few hundred of dollars.

Buying Botox Online For Home Use

Botox could be a dangerous medications if used inappropriately or the wrong drug company is used. (Hisham Seify, MD, PhD, FACS, Orange County Plastic Surgeon)

Don’t try Imitation Botox at home or local spa

Do Not Purchase Any Type Of Filler Or Botox Online Just To Save Yourself A Few Dollars

Botulinum toxin, commonly known as botox, should only be purchased by a qualified physician for its injection. Short list of problems with imitation botox:

  1. Illegal – Is it worth it to save a few dollars?
  2. Likely not going to be effective – I have many patients who are injected with presumed “botox” in other countries where it doesn’t work. Pay a little more for a known quantitiy.
  3. Technique – While injecting Botox looks easy, there are actually a lot of nuances and individual anatomy involved. This can be seen by all of the patients injected with poor technique with strange expressions and brows walking on the streets. Someone purchasing pseudo Botox is likely going to have poor technique and results.
  4. Safety – Why risk your health by having someone who is not qualified to inject you with unknown and not tested product? (Anil R. Shah, MD, Chicago Facial Plastic Surgeon)

Buying Botox Online

A very good chance you will DIE! Seriously. The purity and potency are not controlled.

Most likely you will get too little, if any, but as the “doctor” in Florida found out (the one on the respirator), you could get too much. (Michael Coverman, MD, Austin Dermatologist)

I Would Not Buy Or Administer Your Botox Online

Bogus Botox and Bogus Fillers

I am seldom left speechless, but I now am left without words to describe what I just watched at discountmedspa.com.

The self injection “instruction” video along with the $149 per 100 units of “Botoxin” makes me think that maybe I haven’t “seen and heard it all”.

I cannot believe that this site and business is operating in the face of the diasters that have resulted from “bogus” botulinum toxin use. There will be problems. People who use this product will be playing “Russian Roulette”, not knowing what they are getting, and “asking for trouble”.

I guess coming soon with be the do it yourself rhinoplasty. I would strongly advise people to stay away from these products. (Michael A. Persky, MD, Encino Facial Plastic Surgeon)
