Botox Unit Price
Botox pricing typically depends on units or areas. I prefer the unit pricing because there is a gigantic variation in what people desire for their results per area.
The price range is $10-20/unit.
An inexperienced or non-physician injector will often charge less, but one should not make their decision on price when it comes to cosmetic procedures, after all it is your face.
Typically the cost will be somewhere between $300 – $700.
Geographical locations effect the price as well, for instance Manhattan NY and San Francisco CA often charge much more because of overhead factors. (Marla M. Klein, MD, Lake Oswego Dermatologic Surgeon)
Top Providers of Botox Will Have Experience and Often Better Prices – Look for pricing by UNIT, not area or syringe
An experienced Botox injector with great knowledge and years of experience and expertise may be able to provide the desire results with less material, therefore saving you money. Botox injections are very technique dependent. Look for experience.
The top provider of Botox in your area can be found by visiting the Botox Cosmetic Website. Check the doctor finder tab and find the top medical offices within 50 miles. Allergan offers rebates and specials through the top providers of Botox, Juvederm and Latisse that are not available to all physicians.
If a practice is not very busy administering Botox there is a chance the Botox may not be freshly reconstituted. if that is the case, one may not get the best possible results from Botox.
You may find that paying less per unit or per area is not really much of a savings if the Botox is not freshly reconstituted. In my Raleigh, NC plastic surgery practice we offer only freshly reconstituted Botox.
Experience will often get you the best result and perhaps a better price for your Botox. But, searching for the lowest price on Botox will generally not mean the best result or the best VALUE. (Michael Law, MD, Raleigh-Durham Plastic Surgeon)
Many providers charge per unit while others charge per area. Per unit pricing can vary from $9-20 / unit in the Los Angeles and Bay Area regions and likely nationwide. Per area pricing can also range from $200-$300 per area (an area is approximately 20 units of botox).
It is best to question those who have relatively cheap botox as some providers might be injecting non-FDA approved botox from other countries (only U. S. botox is considered FDA approved). (Jeffrey D. Pollard, MD, San Jose Facial Plastic Surgeon)
How Much Does Botox Cost?
The price of Botox really varies from provider to provider. Some clinics will offer specials as low as $9/unit, and some are over $15/unit. It’s important to not focus solely on price and to find an injector whose experienced with Botox injection and facial anatomy.
Most patients have a good experience with Botox injections once they find a clinic that they are happy with. (Austin Hayes, MD, Portland Plastic Surgeon)
It’s not about price; it’s about outcome
It’s not about the best price for Botox; it’s about the best outcome. Botox is an art. I would recommend beginning with a consultation to identify your areas of concern. The best results are typically achieved by combining Botox, fillers and other tools.
Typically Botox is priced per unit or per area (i.e. forehead, crow’s feet, etc.). At OmniAestheticMD Botox is priced per unit. (Joseph A. Eviatar, MD, FACS, New York Oculoplastic Surgeon)
Botox 10.99 a unit
We are an Allergan Black Diamond provider of Botox in NYC and Ohio, which means we do more injectables than 99% of the other practices out there. Our current special is $10.99 a unit, and most people get 20-50 units depending on which areas of their face they would like to treat. (Justin Harper, MD, Columbus Physician)
Botox costs vary
Anywhere from $10 to $15 per unit is reasonable depending on your geographic area. Be wary of bargain basement pricing as this can mean the injections are not being done by a trained professional! (Victoria W. Serralta, MD, Arlington Dermatologic Surgeon)
Botox prices
Botox is sold by the unit by most offices. Typically the forehead will require 15 to 30 units, glabella 15 to 25 units, and crows feet 4 to12 units. Botox unit prices range from nine to $15 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. (Robert Najera, MD, Frisco Plastic Surgeon)
Botox is priced $15 per unit in our office. Most patients will receive anywhere from about 8-40 units of Botox per treatment, depending on which area is being injected. Patients may prefer to get Botox injections every 3-4 months, as soon as the temporary paralysis wears off or they may wait longer.
It’s personal preference. (Steven Goldman, MD, Cleveland Plastic Surgeon)
Botox cost in Chicago
Botox injections in Chicago cost approximately $15 per unit. This amount is fairly standard throughout the midwest. If you are struggling with your decision to receive Botox, remember that a Board Certified Dermatologist is your best bet.
As fun as it may sound, Botox parties at your friends’ homes are not safe. (Ashish Bhatia, MD, FAAD, Naperville Dermatologic Surgeon)
Botox is generally priced one of two ways: per unit or per area. My preference is to charge by the unit because I am then able to tailor the treatment more specifically to each patient and charge them accordingly.
This way, each patient is only paying for the actual number of units received instead of an arbitrary cost based on an area. My experience is that the most effective number of units varies from patient to patient.
In our practice, botox generally costs $11 per unit although additional significant savings are available through the Brilliant Distinction program and periodic manufacturer’s specials. For safety and to insure the best outcome, treatment by a physician with detailed understanding of the anatomy and extensive experience is important. (Scott K. Thompson, MD, Salt Lake City Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Botox can be charged by unit or by area. We charge a flat rate for 20 units and can be injected in multiple areas depending the patients needs. If a patient wants more than 20 units, then an additional 20 units can be purchased at a discounted rate.
We offer a variety of specials throughout the year so depending on the special, the price of 20 units of Botox can range from $250-335. (Florencia Guzman, MD, West Chester Physician)
Botox Cosmetic: Price depends on who is injecting
In the Bay Area, where I practice, Botox is typically delivered at a per-unit price. These prices vary pretty widely, from as low as $10/unit to as high as $20/unit.
In my experience, the price tends to correlate with the level of training of the practitioner. In Day Spas or non-MD run medical spas, the prices may be even lower. The reality is, though the simple act of injecting Botox is not particularly complex, decisions regarding dose, specific areas to inject, and frequency of treatment are of the utmost importance.
Paying $3-4/unit more in order to get a better experience, a lower risk of complications, and to develop a relationship with a specific provider, is almost always worth it. Personally, I do ALL of my own Botox and fillers – that way I can guarantee my patients the highest level of service. (Evan Ransom, MD, FACS, Bay Area Facial Plastic Surgeon)
National Botox prices range from $450 to $800 for typical (full) treatment
Botox Cosmetic is administered by the unit. Most plastic surgeons and dermatologists price and inject based on a unit price. Some cosmetic practices price Botox Cosmetic based on the region being treated instead of the exact unit amount, for example frown lines, forehead, or Crow’s feet.
National cost varies and may range from approximately $9 to $16 per unit, which means a typical (full) treatment is 50 units or $450 to $800. Many cosmetic physicians offer special pricing, if combined with other plastic surgery treatments. (Houtan Chaboki, MD, Washington DC Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Treatment area vs. unit Botox pricing
Bridget, If you find the right experienced injector you will be satisfied with the financial arrangement and the outcome because you will receive exactly the outcome you expected – a lovely result! Unit pricing and the advertising of unit specials originally existed to provide medical spas a marketing advantage.
But this gives the illusion that a medical procedure and the art of Botox injection can be haggled over. Identify a board certified physician, whom you trust, that will provide complete correction of an area for you, whether it is the crow’s feet, the glabella, or the forehead region.
Typically, areas of treatment will decrease in price the more “zones” you consider. Expect a reasonable fee around $300-350; $500; $650-750 respectively. If complete correction is not obtained, a “touch up” Botox injection should be offered, (Shepherd G. Pryor, MD, Scottsdale Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Different offices will charge differently. The cost should be gone over with you prior to the injections so that you are aware. Our offices charges $12/ unit with a nurse injector and $15/ with the MD. It is always to seek treatment in the office of a board certified plastic surgeon. (Sugene Kim, MD, FACS, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
Some practices charge Botox per units and others per area. Our typical charge is $9.50 per unit. (Farzad Yaghouti, MD, San Diego Ophthalmologist)
