Botox: what is it and when to start injecting?

The remedy for wrinkles was the dream of the beauties of all time. For more than 10 years, cosmetologists have practiced “injections of youth.”

In the muscles of the face introduce a special substance – Botox.

The procedure has become very famous. But most women do not have detailed information about the procedure of beauty.

What is botulinum toxin?

The drug base for “beauty injections” is called “botulinum toxin”. The drug is made on the basis of pathogenic bacteria.

These are microorganisms that cause fermentation in cans with household preparations and spoil overdue factory canned food.

In high concentrations botox is one of the strongest poisons. High concentrations of substances cause infection with an incurable disease – botulism. With her rapid development of respiratory failure, and death occurs.

Botox Cosmetic Can Provide Dramatic Improvement For Frown Lines

The power of the toxin is so great that 2 kg is enough to destroy the entire population of the Earth. Various muscular diseases are treated with small doses of botulinum toxin.

It blocks the nervous activity of the muscles. The introduction of Botox removes spasms, immobility of muscles. This property of the drug is used by cosmetologists to rejuvenate human faces.

The effect of Botox

The action of the medicine is directed at the most “capricious” parts of the human face – facial muscles. Botulinum toxin limits their mobility.

The less the face moves, the longer the skin remains young on the forehead, under the eyes, around the lips. The temporary suspension of muscles smoothes the old wrinkles and restrains the appearance of new ones.

Botox Cosmetic Works On Dynamic Wrinkles

The advantages of “injections of youth” have been repeatedly proven by cosmetologists. In the cosmetic center of Beverly Hills, an experiment was set up with volunteers – twin sisters. Experience began when the girls were 25 years old. For 10 years, one of the nurses was periodically injected with botox.

During the entire experiment, she lived in Malibu, where the sun damages the skin severely. The second sister, without injections, was in Munich with a temperate climate. At the end of the experiment, a woman from Malibu looked 5 years younger than her sister.

The speed of action of the drug on the skin depends on the features of the face. A few hours after the injection, the drug is absorbed. Suspension of tissue activity occurs in 3 hours.

The face remains smooth from six months to a year. During this time, the nervous system grows new nerve endings. Muscles again get the opportunity to move, so the next dose of Botox is needed.

For the best effect, cosmetologists are advised to do injections in small doses, but every 3 months. Over time, facial muscles become trained.

They retain little mobility even when the action of the drug is erased. Then the injections are required less often – every six months.

How is the procedure performed?

“Injections of youth” begin with a preliminary conversation and the collection of data on the patient’s health and chronic diseases.

If the doctor believes that there are no contraindications, the procedure is carried out in the following order:

External study by the beautician of the face in different mimic positions;

Dr. Cain R. Linville, Houston Plastic Surgeon – Cosmetic Botox Injections

  • Photographing;
  • Markup;
  • Purification of the face with a bactericidal solution;
  • Injections in the tense muscles.

Powdered botulinum toxin is diluted in a sodium chloride solution and injected into the muscle or under the skin (removing wrinkles near the mouth and eyes).

The patient sits or lies in the chair during the introduction of Botox. Syringes for the procedure are used disposable, diabetic.

After injections, it is impossible:

  • strain your face (laugh, frown) – 4 hours;
  • tilt – 3 hours;
  • lie down for 4 hours;
  • lifting weights – 3 hours;
  • to visit the beach, baths, saunas – 14 hours;
  • massage face – 2 weeks;
  • to drink alcohol – 1 week.
  • Apply makeup, you can fly in an airplane.

Feeling of the procedure

Special anesthesia before the introduction of Botox is not carried out. The injections in the face do not cause appreciable discomfort.

Some cosmeticians rub anesthetics into the skin. When botulinum toxin is fixed in the tissues, there is a burning sensation, tingling. After the first injection of the drug, numbness and tightness in the face are felt.

The Botox Will Temporarily Relax The Muscle And Smooth Facial Creases

Dark spots from the needle remain for several days. There is a pain in these places. People with sensitive skin sometimes have bruises and edema of the eyelids. After a week, all the consequences of the procedure disappear. Correctly selected dose and clear compliance with the doctor’s rules ensure that there is no discomfort for the patients.

Risk of Botox and contraindications

Botulinum toxin, in most cases, is well tolerated. Rare unusual reactions to the drug are determined by the genetic predisposition of a person.

Approximately 1% of people who have undergone a course of Botox, the body produces antibodies to toxin. This has undesirable consequences. These include:

  • headache;
  • nausea;
  • the temporary omission of the eyelid, the displacement of the eyebrows;
  • double vision, fog in the eyes, impaired vision;

Who Is An Ideal Candidate For Botox Cosmetic

  • weakness of the neck muscles;
  • stitching pain in the shoulders;
  • coryza;
  • hoarse voice;
  • skin rash;
  • feeling of weakness, fatigue;
  • drying of the mouth.

Before the course of injections, the cosmetologist finds out the contraindications for each case.

Botox is prohibited for allergic people and people with skin diseases. Other prohibitions:

  1. chronic blood diseases;
  2. acute infections of any kind;
  3. severe ophthalmic diseases;
  4. pathology of facial muscles;
  5. alcoholism.

Do not administer botulinum toxin to pregnant and lactating women. The course is transferred to another time if the client takes antibiotics, muscle relaxants, drugs that slow blood clotting.

What is the best age for “beauty injections”?

Botox Cosmetic Is A Nonsurgical Treatment Designed To Reduce The Fine Lines

The anatomical structure of the face and skin properties of each person are individual. Some people in 30 years old look for 45 years old because of the many wrinkles on the face and neck. Cosmetologists note that people express a desire to take a course of Botox, when the date of their age ends at 9 – 29, 39, 49.

This is due to psychological attitudes, the desire to find a second, third youth. Experts say that young women from 25 to 28 years of age can remove the first wrinkles on the forehead. They are offered a lightweight injection, the so-called baby-botox. If the folds on the forehead are poorly expressed, the procedure should be postponed until 30 to 35 years of age.

On the one hand, “injections of youth” is a relatively inexpensive way to rejuvenate. The standard rate is cheaper than the labutenes.

On the other hand, their influence on the body as a whole is not fully understood. It is worth remembering that in the US, such procedures are allowed only in large cosmetology clinics.
