Botox For Smokers Lines Before And After

Vertical lip lines

These types of lines are often treated with a combination of Botox and fillers. A tiny amount of Botox can be helpful to reduce excess movement in the lips which drives the lines. My preferred filler for these lines would be Belotero which integrates well into the skin.

Another good choice would be Restylane Silk. Sometimes a resurfacing procedure such as laser or chemical peel is used for these types of lines. (Richard Ort, MD, Lone Tree Dermatologic Surgeon)

These wrinkles are called smoker’s lines. You have several options for treatment: Botox, fillers, dermabrasion, and laser resurfacing. A small amount of Botox into the lips will help weaken the muscles that are causing the wrinkles.

Is Botox Good For Smokers Lines

Fillers, such as Restylane Silk (my preferred filler for fine lip lines), fill in the wrinkle from below. Dermabrasion and laser resurfacing both work by blending the wrinkles in with the surrounding “normal” skin. Consult with a local cosmetic surgeon who is experienced with correction of smoker’s lines!. (Clyde Mathison, MD, Knoxville Facial Plastic Surgeon)

Treatment for peri oral lines

My favourite product for peri oral lip lines is Volbella by Juvederm. It is very light and targets this area beautifully. Using a bit of botox to relax the muscle a bit around the mouth will also help. (Martin Jugenburg, MD, Toronto Plastic Surgeon)

Lip lines

Botox is one option here. Used in very small amounts, it will carefully block the muscle in certain locations that is contributing to these lines. It can change your smile a bit, so that is one of the reported downsides.

Instead, you might consider a chemical or laser peel? This has some down time, but can really make a difference. (Paul J. Leahy, MD, Leawood Plastic Surgeon)
