Botox For Preventative Wrinkles
Wrinkle prevention
If you goal is to prevent the wrinkles from getting worse then I can highly recommend Botox (or Xeomin or Dysport) as the best preventative for wrinkle formation.
If the wrinkles are there when you are relaxed and not making any facial expressions, they will usually soften from treatment with Botox.
Think of your skin as a piece of paper if you don’t fold it you will not get a crease and Botox prevents the folding. (Jack Berdy, MD, New York Physician)
Wrinkle blockers for forehead and between the eyebrows.
Wrinkle blockers (Xeomin, Botox, Dysport) are fantastic for this indication. They are quite good if you already have the lines, but can be even better if you are starting to develop them and wanting to prevent them from worsening.
Botox for the forehead
Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. Common areas of treatment include the horizontal lines seen on the forehead when one raises the brows and the vertical lines seen between the brows when one frowns.
It may take up to 14 days for full results of a Botox treatment and most people enjoy their results for 3-4 months. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. (Alex Eshaghian, MD, PhD, Encino Physician)
Forehead Botox
Neurotoxins (Botox and Dysport) are ideal in the situation where there are dynamic lines (line present only when you are making a face) present.
Botox and a chemical peel together often gives the right look. A chemical peel will refresh the whole face and get rid of fine lines where the botox helps with those dynamic creases. most patients need both. (David Hansen, MD, Beverly Hills Dermatologic Surgeon)
Botox for forehead and 11’s
Botox can definitely help to improve your forehead lines and 11’s and prevent them from getting worse if you get regular treatments. Once the lines are etched in you may need filler in addition to Botox. (Renata Wix-Harris, MD, Livingston Physician)
Selective Botox
Botox is wonderful for balancing the overactive muscles of the forehead. It works best for lines or wrinkles that are generated with active motion of the forehead. When there are minimal forehead lines or wrinkles, and the individual is a youthful age, minimal amounts of Botox should be administer.
Correcting the 11’s in y forehead
You can improve the 11’s with Botox. The etched in lines, the fine superficial lines that are there at rest, are not going to go away with Botox. These are almost like scars, and will gradually improve with continued treatment. A recent study shows that after 3 treatments spaced 3-4 months apart, these etched in lines do improve significantly. (Steven F. Weiner, MD, Panama City Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Botox for forehead and glabella rejuvenation
What you are observing in the mirror is a horizontal lines and vertical lines caused by the contraction of your forehead muscles (frontalis) and the muscles in between your eye brows (corrguators and depressor muscles).Botulinum toxin/Botox injection to deactivate these muscles is the best method of softening these lines and PREVENTING them from getting deeper with age. If you start Botox treatment now and continue injections every 4 months you will prevent formation of the lines which you can see on your forehead.
Choose an experienced facial plastic surgeon, as this very simple injection, done by the wrong person could cause an undesirable facial appearance. (Pedram Imani, MBBS(Hons), MS(Hons), FRACS, Perth Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Botox is the only answer for 11s and forehead
Well placed Botox in the forehead and frown area is the only real solution to lines in that area. It can be used for subtle lines and also for prevention of lines. Botox blocks muscle movement associated with lines.
This stops the lines from forming. Consistent Botox also changes expression patterns, further eliminating lines even after the clinical effect of Botox has subsided. (Richard W. Westreich, MD, Manhattan Facial Plastic Surgeon)
