Botox Cost For 11 Lines
Botox cost will depend on area of the country and levels of local competition
I practice in Denver, Colorado and Botox typically costs $10-15/unit.
I perform my own injections because I have fellowship training in facial aesthetic surgery.
However, we have several top-notch non-M. D. injectionists in our area, and I don’t hesitate to recommend them if the situation best serves the patient.
Your injectionist needs to do a lot of Botox to actually be good at it.
When a practice prices its Botox, it uses one of two methods: by area injected vs. by amount of units used.
The practices that charge by area injected tend to be more expensive in the end on the areas typically injected: frown lines/”11’s” (corrugators), forehead, and crow’s feet. They will just charge one unit price no matter what is used.
This can lead to overcharging for the most popular areas. In my practice I only charge for the units used which allows me to fine tune each patient’s situation. For first time patients in my practice my typical price structure is as follows:
- Frown lines/”11’s” – 12.5 units x $15/unit = $187.50
- Crow’s feet – 15 units x $15/unit = $225
- Forehead – 22.5 units x $15/unit = $337.50 (actual amount will vary with forehead size)
People who return will get a discount on their per unit cost that is frankly negotiable. Trust me, everyone negotiates. We all want the return business.
You can initially expect Botox to last 3-4 months, but with repeat injections, the muscles atrophy (weaken) and don’t require as much over time. In fact, you can often start spreading your injections out further. (Manish H. Shah, MD, FACS, Denver Plastic Surgeon)
Botox lasts usually 3-4 months on an average but may be longer in some patients and shorter in others. It can take up to 10 days to see results. There are 3 areas usually done which are crow’s feet on the sides of the eyes, the frown lines between the eyebrows (11 lines), and the forehead creases.
I charge 265 – 300 per area treated. If someone wants their upper lip done also with the other areas it is an additional Fee. Sometimes botox just doesn’t seem to work as good as other times for whatever the reason.
If the patient comes back for a touch-up within 3 weeks then I do not charge a touch-up fee. (Sean R. Weiss, MD, FACS, New Orleans Facial Plastic Surgeon)
The cost of Botox varies from facility to facility. Most offices charge by the unit but some do charge by injection location. An average cost per Botox unit is anywhere from $11-$15. If a patient receives Botox injections in the forehead, crow’s feet, and frown area (11 lines), this would be around 48 units total.
Patients need to be educated and ask their provider if the facility uses actual Botox and that it is not just being advertised in office, as many facilities use Xeomin or Dysport or offer more than one neurotoxin.
These products are similar but not the same as the actual Botox and this changes price per unit along with result and length of time for results to be in effect. (Spencer Berry, MD, Fargo Family Physician)
Typically we charge by the amount of medication required to achieve your results. At the moment we currently are doing approximately 70-80 injections a month.
It is important to understand that the basic cost of the medication is the same for all practitioners, and as a result any office that offers the medication for lower than the cost for the material is possibly not giving you enough medication or perhaps not using FDA certified BOTOX.
Typically in my office we are charging about $350 to treat the area between the eyebrows, and our patients know that they can come back within the first month for additional botox at no extra charge if they do not get the results they seek.
We stand behind our products and our expertise, and also are very keen to make sure the patient is satisfied.
Botox typically takes about 10 days to achieve its maximum effect, and usually will last about 4 months. (Manish Raj Gupta, MD, Toledo Plastic Surgeon)
There is lots of variation generally for the cost of botox. Here is a break down of some of the reasons why:
- Charge is dependant most of the time on number of areas injected and most people group these into 1, 2 or 3 areas (most commonly frown/forehead or crows feet).
- In the UK where I practice, the average price is mostly dependant on the experience of the injector and sometimes location and product used.
- A ballpark figure being £170 / £250 / £300 is what you would expect to pay on average.
- Avoid any ‘sales’ or discount offers as most don’t tend to yield optimum outcomes. Please be sure to check out the credentials of your injector and stick to advanced aesthetic practitioners. (Rupert Critchley, MD, MRCGP, London Physician)
Cost of BOTOX Cosmetic
A very common question that patients ask is: How much does BOTOX Cosmetic cost? When you consider pricing of a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment, you should consider that you are paying for a product, and the knowledge, skill and actual act of an expert physician injecting the purified protein.
Typically the range of what BOTOX costs varies because of the experience and credentials of the person injecting.
It also varies because the dose recommended by one injector may be different from another.
Typically, however, an area like the frown lines (11 lines) or crow’s feet would range between $300 – $450 per treatment.
The price increases as the dosage required to relax the muscles in a specific area increases. Everyone’s muscles are different and so each patient requires a tailor-made plan for best results. (Manish Khanna, MD, FRCP(C), Montreal Dermatologic Surgeon)
The cost of Botox for 11 lines and wrinkles
The cost of Botox depends on how many units are used to relax a particular group of muscles. Practitioners may charge by the unit or the area. It’s a good idea to be aware of how many units is used so that as a consumer you can compare apples to apples if you see a different practitioner.
Small doses may cause an effect, but if an area is under-dosed then results may last a shorter duration. Effect and duration is dose related. Less-experienced practitioners can charge as little as $8 per unit while more experienced providers charge anywhere from $12-15 a unit.
One area averages approximately 10-20 units frown 11 lines, 40-50 units for forehead and crows feet. Lower face 10-20 units, Masseter muscles for those who grind their teeth, have TMJ issues or desire a more angular-shaped jaw approximately 50 units.
Neck platysmal bands to improve the appearance of the jawline approximately 50 units. Necklace lines 10-20 units. (John Grasso, MD, Upland Physician)
