Botox Bunny Lines Before And After

Bunny lines helped with Botox

“Bunny lines” on the nose are due to repetitive movement of the underlying nasalis muscle. As with other muscles of the face, this muscle is amenable to temporary paralysis by Botox cosmetic injection. Once relaxed, the overlying skin will become smoother and the lines less prominent.

As with all cosmetic interventions, a thorough consultation with a board certified or board eligible surgeon or dermatologist is essential for optimal results. (Whitney A. Burrell, MD, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon)

Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expressions.

One area that can be treated is what we call the bunny lines. These are seen on the upper nose when we scrunch our nose.

A small amount of Botox placed here will relax the nasalis muscle and smoothen out these wrinkles. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. (Alex Eshaghian, MD, PhD, Encino Physician)

Botox is a great way to soften bunny lines. It works by relaxing the muscles that cause this crinkling along the nose.

Just a few units on each side will provide relaxation for anywhere from 3-5 months.

Down time is minimal and this can be done in a quick visit in the office. Consulting with a dermatologist, facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon is the first way to start the process of correcting your bunny lines. (Mark Hamilton, MD, Indianapolis Facial Plastic Surgeon)

Botox is a great solution to the “bunny lines” caused by movement of the nasalis muscle. It only takes a couple of units on each side of the nose, depending on the dilution, to inactivate that muscle.

Botox usually begins to work over 2-7 days and lasts approximately 3-4 months. (Neil J. Zemmel, MD, FACS, Richmond Plastic Surgeon)

Bunny lines treatment using Botox or Dysport

Bunny lines are extra creases along inner nasal sidewall extending from the root of the nose, often get accentuated with expression in some individuals. Botox or Dysport is quite efficacious is minimizing these lines; however, if excessive amount is injected, it may change the contour of inner corners of both eyes and can lead to a subtle droop of the inner eyelids.

Always seek to have your Botox or Dysport injection performed by experienced board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. (William Ting, MD, Bay Area Dermatologic Surgeon)

Botox is effective for “bunny lines”

Botox is effective at treating bunny lines. A single injection of 2 to 6 units on each side should prevent the muscles that wrinkles that area. I usually start people off with 3 or 4 units on each side and adjust this on subsequent treatments as necessary.

Not everyone likes the effect however, on some people it looks unnaturally flat during smiling in that area. Since it lasts about 3 months, you won’t be stuck with it if it isn’t for you.

I like to tell people Botox is like a hair cut, you can try different styles knowing that in a few months it will “grow out”. (Louis W. Apostolakis, MD, Austin Facial Plastic Surgeon)
