A skin cancer specialist with over 21 years of experience, Dr. Hurvitz offers advanced skin cancer treatments available. She has extensive training and experience in skin cancer screening and detection, including with basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), and melanoma.
In addition to skin cancer treatment, Dr. Hurvitz offers a full range of the latest medical skin care and aesthetic skin rejuvenation procedures, including dermal fillers, Botox, laser hair removal, chemical peels, sclerotherapy for spider veins, WarmSculpting nonsurgical body contouring, and many other in-office treatments.
Dr. Hurvitz is a respected expert in dermatology who patients know they can trust with their medical and cosmetic needs. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego. After graduation, she decided to attend medical school so she could pursue her goal of providing expert dermatology care to patients in her hometown of Santa Barbara.
Dr. Hurvitz earned her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri where she thrived in her studies and graduated summa cum laude. She then completed a residency in dermatology at the University of Southern California and served as chief resident of her program during her final year of training.
A passionate believer in giving back to the Santa Barbara community, Dr. Hurvitz proudly uses her medical skills to care for underserved patients as a volunteer for the American Academy of Dermatology and Skin Cancer Foundation. She also strives to make a difference by educating her patients about the importance of getting regular skin checks to ensure your overall health and wellness—and preventing and detecting skin cancer early on.
Dr. Hurvitz is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
