It is very rare for an experienced injector to encounter that but usually sever sudden pain occurs and either blanching or purple/black discoloration occur. Every injector must carry the dissolving agent handy in case this happens.

Lips have very high blood supply and bruising is very very common, I would wait at least 2 weeks before you follow up if the asymmetry persists since that what they will tell you. Also recommend for next time to ask to save 20% of the filler to correct any asymmetry.

I believe you can achieve your results with either traditional fillers or fat transfer ( ALMI ) without the need for surgery.
Fat transfer is an office procedure takes about 2 hours and the results last at least 5 years.

To answer your question, I would suggest to only have fillers in a medical office and not at a random party since experienced injectors know their anatomy and they would recommend other treatments that what some think it should be a filler. Usually the sides of the nose and that triangle between the nose tip, side of the nose and the middle of the eye are highest risk. also in general having deep injections can oppose a risk since arteries run deeper that veins.

You are right, sun damage can cause thinning skin, there are multiple treatments that can restore that to help building Collagen and Elastin. I would recommend either Microneedling with PRP or stem Cells, VIVACE ( Radio-frequency Microneedling) , Laser treatments such as IPL or Co2.
Besides using good skin care line and avoid further sun exposure.

Using Voluma or Lyft to fill the jawline will help pull the Jowls , other option to consider that may take sometime to see results is Sculptra to fill the jawlines. Sculptra usually requires 2-3 sessions each are 4-6 weeks apart.

Yes absolutely fillers can be used to help scar appearance, generally speaking the filler being used should be softer than the one used for cheeks, the injector should stay superficial and keeps aspirating. Every injector should have Hylenex on hand though complications are very rare.
