18 yrs post op LASIK, is +5 worth it if it fixes HOAs?
Difficulty at night with small ablation zone LASIK
Nov 10, 2014
Nov 10, 2014
The problem in treating patients with small optical zones is that removal of tissue [depending on the higher order aberrations] might make you farsighted. This could end up causing more issues with worse vision at all times, even though you might be correctable with glasses, you may end up unhappy. A PreVue lens can be made to determine whether treating you might help. If a Prevue lens clears up your issues, it would be worth a try in one eye first, then the other eye. Surgery…

Risk of Undercorrection after LASIK
Mar 15, 2014
Mar 15, 2014
LASIK is often an effective procedure for your prescription. Under and overcorrections may be the individual’s response to healing. Often, an enhancement can be done to improve vision should you not obtain the result you desire. The percentage chance of needing this will vary from doctor to doctor. Seek a consultation with a doctor specializing in all refractive procedures to determine which option is best for you. There are many wonderful procedures which could you…
At +6 and +7 hypermetropia eyes which surgery is the best one? All doctors tell different, icl, laser
High Hyperopia: What vision correction option is best?
Jan 20, 2014
Jan 20, 2014
With a high farsighted prescription, refractive lens replacement is usually the best option. The best procedure for you will depend upon the prescription, the thickness of the cornea, the lengh of the eye. Laser vision correction is usually not an option for a prescription as high as yours. It would be best to undergo a consultation and speak with the doctor about the best option for you and your eyes.
After PRK, I See Starburst In Day When A Light Hits A Smooth Surface, Will This Go Away?
Starbursts after PRK
Sep 29, 2013
Sep 29, 2013
The front surface takes time to fully heal after laser vision correction. Dryness, small prescriptions can result in the symptoms you describe. Additionally, some people notice glare, haloes or starbursts for a few months. Most often, over time with healing they resolve. You should speak with your eye doctor if you are concerned.
Which One is Better for Me LASIK or PRK or ICL?
Best surgery in a thin cornea
Sep 29, 2013
Sep 29, 2013
The best procedure for you will depend on the shape of your cornea as well as the prescription and thicknes of the cornea. An ICL will not reshape the cornea and result in any more thinning. This might be why this procedure was recommended. LASIK is probably not indicated due to the corneal thickness but PRK might be able to be performed. This would depend upon the shape of your cornea as well other factors you mentioned. There are benefits and risks of each…
Is It Good News to Hear That, After 4 Days Post PRK Surgery, That You Are Healing Extremely Fast?
Good news?
Sep 29, 2013
Sep 29, 2013
I would speak with your eye doctor about this question as have a concern about your healing. Usually, four days after PRK surgery the front surface heals although the vision might not yet be great. That is normal.
Why Am I Getting Cornea Erosion?
Corneal Erosions
Sep 29, 2013
Sep 29, 2013
Occasionally, after vision correction surgery, people do experience a recurrent corneal erosion. Sometimes, it may be caused by incomplete eyelid closure and at other times, because the front layer is not sticking to the underneath layers well so it is easily disrupted upon awakening. If you truly have the latter, there are a number of treatments which might help, some include treatment with a salt drop and/or ointments, extended wear contact lens or other surgical treatments….
