I’m 20 years old, 330 lbs and wondering if the gastric sleeve is a good option for me?
Addressing Morbid Obesity at a Younger Age
Jul 14, 2021
The most common statement I hear from my patients is “I wish I had done it sooner.” As a 20 year old who is already suffering from this very complex disease, addressing the issue before is gets worse is a good plan. Even at a young age at your weight, serious health problems like high blood pressure and diabetes can begin to develop and will likely worsen with age. To know if surgery is right for you, I recommend you research bariatric surgeons in your area. Look at the reviews by their…
I’m 5’2” and 185lbs do I qualify for a gastric sleeve?
Do I Qualify for Gastric Sleeve
Feb 6, 2021
At 5’2″ and 185 pounds, your Body Mass Index (BMI) is about 33.8. This BMI would not qualify you for surgery. If you have a BMI between 35 and 40, you can qualify if you have significant health issues related to your weight such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Obstructive Sleep Apnea as examples. If your BMI is over 40, a patient would qualify without documented health issues. If you do have major health issues, I would encourage you to have a consultation with a qualified Bariatric Surgeon and…
Why was Exilis on my upper legs so painful for me?
Painful Exilis on Upper Legs
Mar 26, 2019
Although the treatment can be very hot, the machine is completely adjustable so that each treatment can be customized to the tolerance of the patient. Unless you had some preexisting skin sensitivity which would not allow you to tolerate it even on the lowest intensity.
Another issue is hair. You should have been completely shaven as hair can cause arcing with the unit which can be painful.
I would recommend contacting the provider and speaking with the MD that should be…
Which Non-Surgical Liposuction is the better, Vanquish or Sculpsure?
Non-Surgical Fat Reduction Options
Aug 30, 2017
We have chosen to use the BTL Vanquish ME equipment in my practice. I believe it has proven to be more effective than other non-surgical options based upon the research. One reason is the size of the equipment. The Vanquish covers a much larger surface of the treatment area than laser or “cold sculpt” options. This offers a greater circumference reduction – on average 2″ around the middle for an abdomen or back treatment. Results will vary, of course and pre and post…
Vanquish and breastfeeding?
Vanquish and Breastfeeding
Aug 30, 2017
Vanquish is not recommended while breastfeeding. I would discontinue your treatment until you are no longer breast feeding, and I would recommend letting your pediatrician know.
Congratulations on your new baby.
