Botox Under Eyes Before And After Pictures

Botox can treat under eye wrinkles

Botox can be effectively used to reduce under eye wrinkles.

Benefits: The benefit is more for dynamic wrinkles (the ones that form when you smile). Apart from wrinkles, lower eyelid Botox is often used to achieve a gentle widening of the eye aperture. This is most useful for people whose eyes nearly close when they smile/laugh.

Warnings: Ectropion of the lower eyelid (out turning) is often an overrated side-effect of this technique, and does not occur that frequently.

However, a mild swelling in the lower eyelid is noted, more so during first two weeks, probably due to stasis of fluid.

I have also noted a mild increase in the lower eyelid fat tbag (if you have one), since the muscle is relaxed, and it can now bulge out more. (Milind Naik, MD, India Ophthalmologist)

Is Botox Good For Under Eyes

Botox can sometimes be injected under the eyes to treat wrinkles. The potential downside is making the eyelid droopy and having dry eye. If botox is injected in small doses and in the right patient it can look very good. (Myriam Loyo, MD, Portland Facial Plastic Surgeon)

I inject Botox under the eye all the time. It requires small doses and superficial injections. It can help to reduce bunching and wrinkling of skin in the lower eyelid. It can also help to make the eye appear more open and rounder.

Make sure that you are seeing an experienced injector. I always make sure to try to avoid the many veins in this area to try to avoid leaving any bruising. (Richard Ort, MD, Lone Tree Dermatologic Surgeon)

Botox can be injected on the lower eyelid but it is mainly to treat hyper-dynamic orbicularis muscle mass on the lower eyelid area. It will not change dramatically the wrinkle as Botox does not fill the area. (Gustavo A. Diaz, MD, Charlotte Facial Plastic Surgeon)
